They would have to adopt me over the internet, when they see I'm 65 I'm sure the deal would fall through.

i'll be the first,

since you're asking this question = 15 years old, lack of experience, TSX will be owned.

The 3 series BMW's and the TSX drive "differently", compared to most cars. Everything seems to work well together.

Spend some time in a go-kart, and read your Bondurant On High Performance Driving - twice!

ultra-gay....here i am saving money to afford the TSX and this 15 years old is getting one for Christmas. He's probably the kind that gets $100 for each B on his report card. I got a spanking if I didn't get higher than a B on my report card when I was in high school....

lol, i've seen worst though. You get all these punk kids around my area who does crack and smoke up all the time, high most of the time, never in class, in HS for their 6th year driving blinged up escalades, bmw's, mercedes. Some parents need to be more aware of their kids actions...

Even though I'm getting a tsx also from my parents - im 19, I'm very grateful for it. I'm also not one of those punk idiot kids so hopefully i'll bring good to this world in my future...

Is there a difference between REALLY REALLY rich parents who get their kid a TSX, or an average earning income family getting their kid a used civic.

This just reminds me of that MTV show called "my sweet 16". If you see some of these girls and their crazy demands makes this 15 year old kid look good!

"if my dad doesnt get me a Range Rover for my bday i will never speak to him"
"this is a used car, Ewwwww"
15/16 year old brats, i do not blame them, but their parents

This same thread happens on every single forum at one point or another. And I always feel the need to throw my hat in the ring...

I'm actually very happy to see that only a few people have been negative about his age, most are just surprised. On most forums, people would've blasted his parents, him, his friends, possibly where he lives and maybe the blue moon because he's 15 and getting their car.

Parents who have worked hard and paid their dues shouldn't be chastised for wanting to get very safe (and most of the time, more expensive) cars for their kids. I really hope this guy (as well as other people that have this good fortune) pay at least some part of the price of the car. It makes one appreciate it that much more.

this kid seems like hes a good guy, didn't come in here bashing at us when we said he was lucky.

I know that my super sweet 16 show you're talking about. one of the girls actually said "I worked so hard my life I deserve this" <- gimme a break, nobody deserves a 100,000 dollar party...Some people can afford one, some people like them, but thats a different story.

I just hope this guy takes good care of it. Unlike that guy that went mudding in one =P
Hopefully hes one of those kids that are inspired to do more because of fortunate events.

Easy now. It's not his fault that his parents can afford to get him a car like that.

When I was 16, my father bought me a 20 year-old Triumph. I soon realized that there were a series of "lessons" that he was trying to teach me: life is expensive even with free stuff, but if you can figure out how to fix it you'll save a fortune and you'll learn that you can learn to do more than you thought you could do, and have fun doing it, too.

We've had very good fortune throughout working life (in our 40s now). Our oldest daughter turned 16 this past year, and we certainly could have run out and bought her a new car, but what kind of real-life training would that be?

She has a job (oh no! actual work!) and is saving for something like a '97 Civic with 100,000+ miles on it, probably be about $4000 or so. We'll match her funds as our first car 'gift' to her (this will be a surprise for her), and she's getting pretty close to the $2000 mark, so not too much more of a wait for her.

Hopefully this kid has his/her head on straight regardless of the parental extravagance. The first car that you'll fully enjoy is the one that you've actually earned.

My father told me a story about a friend of his, who as a teenager was given a Maserati Ghibli by his father; within a couple of weeks, he had stuffed the Maserati into the back of a truck, on a highway: the car didn't survive - another lesson learned!

When a 15 year old kid gets a car handed to him and comes to a forum to ask "how it handles" that bothers me. He's getting a free car, not only should it's performace capabilities not matter, but he shouldn't be in the interests of finding out the limits of those capabilities. It gives the impression that he will not care for this car very well, when truthfully, he should.

the kid is lucky, but it's not like there's anything wrong with a tsx for a gift (mine kinda was). i think even with a good head on your shoulders, you should start with a cheaper car just to get the experience, which takes years especiallly when you're a teenager. but hey, if your parents can afford the insurance premiums....

But back on topic, i too want to know as i do not have the good fortune of owning a TSX (yet)

How fun is it really driving this car?

Is it one of those cars when you get in to it to go wherever you have to, you would say "Man, what a riiide!!"
or

Is it a car when going on a small road trip you would say "Lets take my TSX!!!"

Let me put it this way: After owning my TSX for almost 2 years, I still look forward to driving it whenever we go somewhere, anywhere.

I have no rattles, my sound system sounds great. It has decent pick-up off the line and very good power as the revs build. It hugs corners, its easy to pick any line through a turn. I'm equally happy cruizing at 85mph on I-5 as I am taking the twisties at 45mph on CA1. In my minds eye, its a sports car when I want to feel sporty, a luxury car when I want to feel pampered, and an everyday family hauler when I have rear seat passangers or need to fold the rear seat down to haul large items.

It handles like a champ, baby! The TSX has wonderful precise steering that responds beautifully to your slightest inputs, without feeling twitchy mind you, and the car takes a marvelous set in corners, inspiring confidence to push harder than you probably should.

The TSX has a very solid, planted feel. It may not be quite at the level of the vaunted 3 series, but it's all you really need for 8-9/10ths street driving. Please get the car with a manual transmission, as this only enhances the experience. Sorry, BMW, the TSX MT blows the E90's rubbery, notchy gearbox away!

The TSX accomplishes all this in stock form, with crappy all season tires. A couple of tweaks, such as A-Spec suspension (or coilovers), summer tires and a RSB, and you pretty much have a handling monster on your hands.

After two years, I'm happier than ever with my TSX, warts and all!

Man. When I was 16 I was driving a 1965 Beetle.
