how to avoid streaks in ebony interior

I just got my new 05 TSX ... How in the world do you guys keep it cleans without certain cleaning products (like Formula 2001 or whatever it's called) causing massive streaks or weird looking stain-like marks??

Am I using the wrong product?? What do you guys use?? I'll be honest, I like the sheen and shine or certain armor-all like products. The old TL I had would glaze beautifully after I used that citrus-oil thing that PLEDGE makes.

I'm sorta afraid to clean the interior cuz I don't wanna put something on it that'll ruin it.

What do u guys use??

THNX!

Anthony

Armor All causes weird streaks and spots and (supposedly) causes damage over long-term. Do NOT use Armor All!

Get some 303 Aerospace Protection instead for everything non-leather. Lexol cleaner and conditioner on the leather is good stuff. I have the ebony interior and these products work great.

This question probably belonged in the Wash & Wax section?

Does the Lexol leather cleaner also tighten the leather? I have some lines in the leather on the side bolsters on the seats from people getting in and stuff. I want it to look like just when it was new. What kind of leather cleaner also tightens the leather so that it doesn not create the creases after use?

Talking Streaks

Oh my goodness, the 1st time I ArmorAlled the interior my car was in my garage. I thought I did a good job until I drove out in the sunlight: not only were streaks everywhere but it was also obvious where I missed So now when I do it, I take extra care to make sure I hit every spot evenly so my car does not look jakced up.

Back in the day Armor All made a LowShine version which I can no longer find ... does anyone recommend a cleaner/protectant that is not glossy/high shine? When it is too shiny, I think that it makes it look more like cheap plastic

Whatever cleaner/protectant you use, apply it with a foam pad rather than using the spray bottle and a cloth. No streaks and better application.

There definitely is a product that gets the creases out from people sitting on leather for a long period of time. I used some on my old eddie bauer explorer. The front side bolsters were all creased and had lines on them from people getting in and squishing the side bolsters. I used this leather cleaner/tightener, and it look brand new and got rid of the lines. I did the same thing for our family couch, and it worked wonders. However, I can't find the old bottle, and I have no idea of what it was called.

I don't use anything on my dash, I just wipe it down with a damp cloth to get rid of the dust.

you dont need to use cleaners on the dash, just use a damp cloth. and as for all the posts about lexol etc, everyone i know for as long as i know has had leather seats... they just get creases, its a downfall of them. theres no way to prevent it. you can probably use a conditioner and rather then getting a crease in one month, youll get it the 2nd month. ive always felt that leather conditioners were primarily for convertibles that have the sun beaming directly on the leather all day. regardless of heat, uv rays arent doing that much harm to the leather; windows block out some uv and so does the 'roof'. cleaners etc i would recommend if you have kids who put their sticky hands on everything, otherwise ive never had a problem just wiping a spot down with a damp cloth.... just my

303 is amazing, I highly recommend it. Awesome brilliant shine (not that lame oily shine) and no streaking at all.
