Question How accurate is the Delivery Date?

Hi All! Wanted to ask if the dealers delivery date is accurate or just a shot in the dark? Today is supposed to be my delivery date of my beautiful CG/Ebony 5AT no Nav. I'm hoping that I'll be able to pick it up after work, but who knows. I'm kind of in purgatory right now waiting to get a little piece of heaven with my TSX. So who had an accurate delivery date? Who got screwed? And who's kind of in the middle?

I asked this very same question in an earlier thread. I would post the link to it, but I don't know how. I would suggest searching for it. (BTW, my delivery date kept getting later and later as time went by, so no, not all dates your are told are very accurate.)

Unfortunately when you are dealing with cars coming from overseas you cannot pin point date. Could be 10 days could be 30? you have weather, ocean conditions customs transportation port issues etc. Patience is the key.

i'm waiting past 1 1/2 weeks now. they told me it would be in the next day or 2 days max after i signed papers. when ever i called to check, they would give me the run around. "it should be here any minute now....maybe tomorrow." its all bs, needless to say i'm not happy w/dealers.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't notice before posting the Q that there was a previous thread on the same thing. I didn't get my TSX on Thursday. I had a feeling that Aug 14th date was fuzzy at best. They did give me my VIN number and told me it just got into San Diego. So however long it take to go from SoCal to Chicago..... probably like 10 days. I didn't have to sign all the papers yet, and my dealer is being pretty fair I guess. They certainly don't have control over those dates. I'll patiently wait, but if it gets longet than 2 weeks I'll be pissed.

Just my two-cents worth. I got a VIN number on August 4 with a projected delivery date of August 15 (in NJ). The car rolled of the truck yesterday morning (8/25) and I picked it up last night.

Very sweet. It was worth the wait!

As a side note, my dealer tells me that the CG/Ebony combo is popular and a bit on the rarer side. I had my choice to take other combos right off the lot, but decided to stick it out. No regrets. Bottom line, if you have a VIN number, it shouldn't be more than 30 days.
