not sure what kind of mods you have going, but since the TSX is pretty sleak and smooth, a CF hood might look cheesy on it...
but noting that your car is NBP, you could def pull of the CF, so id say get that for sure, cant go wrong!

Me personally (Having a NBP myself) would go with OEM paint. Dont want to have that cheesy look. The way i see it is if I'm using it for performance racing then I'll go with the CF hood but if it is just for everyday driving, I would definitely go with OEM. Plus CF hoods are more easily chipped and dented than OEM hoods. thats my

CF can look great on the right car, but if you haven't already done a lot of other mods (rims, drop, kit at the very least) it will look out of place and cheesy. The weight reduction doesn't really matter on an underpowered four door FWD car unless you have put a lot of work into your car and are set up to track it.
Nothing looks goofier than a mostly stock car with a carbon fiber hood.

wtf? Where are you getting this idea? <------- CF hood owner.
recent pics? not really, but you can find some pictures on my name. I never had any problem with my cf hood.
I like the fact that nbp color that makes my hood look very stockish, not many people noticed that I have CF hood. Unless they really close or very sunny day.

Oem hood metal is thinner than a tin can so my rock chips are rockchip/dents
Id say CF painted ,,,,,,, i had a VIS cf hood on my accord for 5 years and when i sold it it didnt have half the battle damage my oem tsx hood has.

You do realize that OEM hoods are designed to crumple and not come flying inside decapitating you? Carbon fiber don't crumple. They snap. Sharp edges, human flesh, hmm... great...
If you use it as a daily driver, go with OEM. If you race competitively, and your TSX is a dedicated track car, then I can justify going carbon.
If you never track or autocross, getting a carbon fiber hood is nothing more than, "It looks cool and just because I can."

I think the windshield is designed to try and stick together. A cf hood that breaks apart is as good as oem in that it will break apart instead of staying solid and transfering energy to you.

Build the whole front end of the car, except the frame, from carbon fiber parts. Run that car into a wall.
Take the same car with production steel/aluminum fenders, hoods and whatnot. Run that one into a wall at the same condition.
I guarantee you that the driver in the carbon fiber car will sustain more injuries. I'd rather have the well designed front end ABSORB crash energy than transferring it to me or not doing anything because it snapped.

Because it has nothing to do with compromising my safety. You obviously missed my point, I'm not anti-modding, just a guy with common sense.

Um thies front end crash ABSORBERS of wich you speak of are located in the core support/unibody, the hood wich if you have looked is heald on by barely nothing. Not to mention your logic that the CF hood isnt strong enuff to serve as a crash absorber but is some how strong enough to brake your windshild and decapitate you...... lol
