Honda Type-R Badges

How's it going everyone? Just recently purchased a 2008 TSX. Wanted to know how easy it is to replace my Acura emblems with Honda emblems. It'll be my first mod on the car. Haha.

Very easy I believe there's a DIY around here somewhere. I passed a TSX with the Honda badges on it awhile back, it appeared to be the only mod done and it was so clean and simple

Welcome to the forum btw. Stick with the simple things that you can do yourself if money is tight. Just be sure to do everything right the first time haha

If you want Honda badges, why didn't you just buy a Honda?

I really don't understand this whole replacing the Acura badges thing...like the poster above me, why didnt you just buy a Honda?

I wanted an Acura because I love the brand. I didn't want a Honda, yes same company but everyone drives a Honda, why buy another brand only to put Honda badges on it? Its just so stupid in my opinion.

Glad we convinced you LOL ..

My guess by this thread is that your prob around my age ...which is 23? One of the many reasons why I love Acura is because aside from the obvious Integra/RSX, its not a ricey brand.

For example, when I sit inside of my TSX, I feel like I'm driving a luxury car. Thats part of why I wanted an Acura TSX, its a mature car and Acura is a mature brand (From TSX upwards to RL). Would you put Toyota emblems on a Lexus ES-350? No way...

I love pulling up next to souped-up Civics and just shaking my head. I hate this whole Honda Civic culture - I want to kill it. These kids are so stupid. Lets take a 97 Civ, lower it, tint it, put rims that are worth more than the car, add some obnoxious fart can exhaust, a system and some obnoxious color HIDs and think its a "hot car". Thats why I love how Acura aside from the Integra/RSX, distinguishes themselves (well tries to) from Honda.

We all drive nice classy cars, enjoy it my man!!

I bought my '05 a few weeks ago. So far I've been fixing basic stuff, like a couple burnt out interior bulbs and the broken fog lights. I also installed interior LED lights. My list of mods is next LED tail lights, a Progress rear sway bar, M3 style spoiler/lip, Aspec suspension, and probably a stock body kit.

I am 43 and own a 00 Civic Si. It has a gsr swap done by myself. It also has an Apexi WS2 exhaust. It has a chrome finish and people just assume it is a fartcan. It is one of the quietest aftermarket exhausts made and costs more than 500 bucks. My civic is way more fun to drive than my 06 TSX and better on gas. Think what you want about civic culture, it isn't going anywhere. Yes there are a lot of ricey ones out there. I would rather throw money at my civic than the TSX. The EM1 gets more love.
To the original topic, I really don't get why some people want to convert the badges/grill to the EuroR or Honda. That seems foolish and ricey.

Haha, yeah I always thought it looked retarded when you had some guy with a Honda badge on back (and front if they were really motivated) of their Acura, but everything else still said Acura... wheel center caps, engine cover, air bag on steering wheel, strip above stereo, etc...

^ ive seen one that was bought as a tsx but he had replaced everything to honda, the inside the door said accord, stearing had an H, even the plastic on the radio said honda, it was a full conversion and quite nice, but i bet it would have been cheaper to import a real one lol

Agreed. It would be nice to have an Accord like none other on the road here. I'm still driving an Acura, but it says Honda. I get that. I didn't buy Acura because I love "Acura." I bought an Acura because I know its a sporty, luxury car. Honestly, for those that buy Acura simply because its Acura I see as a bit crazy. Don't get me wrong. Do what you want and don't let anyone tell you different. I'm just saying that Acura came about from Honda so that Honda Motor Co. could make more money in America on that same car they sell everywhere else. Hell, Acura went to letters and numbers from Integra, Legend and Vigor because research told them that people view that as being more exclusive and they would be willing to pay more.

And that's exactly what has happened. We are paying a premium for the TSX over the AccordEuro because it says Acura. Plain and simple.

As for doing a conversion to the AccordEuro, it wouldn't be complete without making the car Euro registration ready like a rear fog light, extended rear view mirror, etc.

Late reply, but it was a combination of 1) Price 2) Didn't want to install the wiring/drill and 3) my girlfriend said she liked the M3 one more than OEM.
