Homelink

I finally got around to calling the homelink company to get my garage door opener working in my car. I dont know if it was because I have a rolling code on my garage door or I just cant follow directions but I couldnt get it to work before. The lady walked me through a series of steps (different than what was in the manual) and everything is working now! So moral of the story is dont give up if you cant get your homelink to work, just give them a quick call. Or you could just keep a regular opener in the car like ive been doing...

My manual didn't work for my garage door opener either...so I used the manual out of my wife's Mazda CX-7 and it was a breeze. Now it works in my TSX

Can you post what steps you went through while they're fresh in your mind? It would be helpful for other members if they are having problems despite following the directions in the manual.

with the rolling code, the instructions in the manual didnt work for mine (a genie). I had to hit the reset button in the car, then go and hit the code cycle or learn button on the opener(the main unit), then followed the normal procedure inside the car. The good news is, the homelink on the TSX is much stronger than on my wifes car or my old one, I can open by door before I turn down my street....nicee

Clear the codes, hold down button 1 and your opener at the same time until the blinking switches to another kind of blinking. Stop pushing both, go the garage door unit, push the "learn" button on it, run back to your car hold down button 1 until the blinking switches to another kind of blinking...do this 3 times (the holding down of the button, not the pushing the "learn" button) and it should work. Thats all I did and it works for both my garage doors.

Yea same as above except the lady told me to use an empty button (one that doesnt open a door) on my garage door opener when resetting everything. Dont know if that matters, but try it if nothing else works.
