people suck

not as bad as me getting hit from behind sitting in rush hour traffic in Vegas. I wasn't even moving and the dude just slammed into the back of my car. I hate people who can't drive.

Tell me about it.... I totalled my first car because of an 83 year old grandpa who pulled out in front of me when he had a stop sign and I had nothing in my way...

yea i'm 100% covered... that I'm not too worried about. Hopefully state farm won't lowball me or anything. The damage wasn't too bad, but the right exhaust tip was a little dented which worries me a little bit.

I'm not sure how fast the dude was going, but judging by the damage I say he hit me at around 15mph.

Question for accident veterans -- if the cops didnt' get involved but I file this through their insurance, will it still show up on a carfax report?

Since bad driving does not discriminate I think everyone should be re-tested every few years.

I am sorry if anyone got offended but this is the harsh truth. Less than 30% of the drivers still drive safely after they hit 60. Testing will only eliminate the dangerout drivers while the safe ones will stay on the roads.

U cant catch both rabbits..... Either the insurance pays for the damage and its on carfax or u pay for it yourself, pal.

My mom takes a senior defensive driving course every year. My husband and I also have taken the course- updates us on the rules of the road.

Same thing happend to me couple years ago, except it was a 20 y/o girl, not an old fart. Got a check engine message a couple days after because the right exhaust got hit. Only looked like the tip was bent but they had to replace the whole right side of the exhaust. Keep an eye on it and make sure you let your insurance know if it comes on.

It's one thing to learn things in another class, and it's other thing to actually apply that knowledge on the fly. Some people still have two arms, two legs, and two eyes at an old age, but just because they have the ability to command a machine's controls doesn't mean they have the ability to direct the machine safely/properly.

Actually, that statement isn't limited to old people. I know alot of young people who don't know how to drive yet. The DMV should require that people take the driving test every 3-5 years. They'll make more money by taking in fees, and the bad drivers will have to improve themselves or lose their driving privilege for a while.

I took my driving test at 16...so the DMV hasn't tested me for 13 years (nearly half of my age). How do they know that I am still able to drive? What if I did what other people do and ask someone to take the written test they mail you when it's time for you to renew your license?

Muncher, I think you need to be tested too since you didn't drive defensively. ;-)

That is so absurd to hear people texting while driving. That's even worse than talking on the phone. She might as well do her makeup and powder her nose.

tensing up is worse, thats why all the drunks that get in wrecks dont get hurt, they're euphoric and muscles are all relaxed.

dont get me started on drunk drivers

I've seen that.

I've seen someone talking on a handheld and drinking coffee ... WTH knows what he was steering with.

I got you beat though, a guy rear-ended me in snow in MD in 1987, got out, and said, "I'm sorry, I thought you were going through the red light." Uh-huh.

That sucks man. I got hit by an 80-something year old man while I was walking across the road in October. He was going like 25 in a camry and didn't even make an attempt to stop until I was half way up his windshield

yikes. congrats on being alive.

i got a 09 corolla as a rental and i'm sad to say that its auto transmission is more responsive than my 04 AT's, and the engine, despite having like 130 HP, feels like it pulls almost as hard. the handling and feel is not even comparable tho.

05/20/2005
New York Police Report Case #31542769

It is funny how society discriminates against young teen drivers, but there is no discrimination against old people.

We should have a thread of Acurazine people getting hit by elderly people (not to discriminate them) in the past. Just kidding.

It's an evil, insidious plan by Honda to get us all out of 1GEN TSXes.

From reading some of these posts there is a discrimination against "old" people. When a drivers reaches the age of 60 (or 65-not exactly sure) insurance rates change. The way some of you sound the day someone turns 60 they become lousy drivers. I know alot of young drivers 25 and under that are excellent drivers (it is the bad ones that ruin it for the good ones-same goes for the older generation.)
