High milage TSX worth buying

Anyone have thoughts of me buying a high milage TSX 2005 with 80 778 miles or 130 000 km.

Owned a 90 accord before with 185 789 miles on it the car ran well just the body fell apart.

People tell me after 74 554 miles the engines run less better then before more vibration less power, maybe true or not i don`t know...

If its cheap then I say go for it. I remember seeing an 04 TSX, auto, non-nav, with 145,000km at a local Honda dealer for $14,900.
I have 126,000km on mine and there is nothing wrong. Other than I just had my transmission replaced but that was a total different issue. Nothing to worry about.

I have a 2004 6MT with 165,000 kms. Have changed the oil every 10K, tranny oil every 50K and brake pads/rotors etc. Runs stronger and faster today than the first day I drove it home in Oct 2004. Only problem I ever had was a noisy release bearing that I replaced a couple months ago when I replaced the clutch (clutch was still in great shape but changed it anyway). So I have upgraded the clutch, lightweight flywheel, rear sway bar, icebox, installed a header and waiting for the new FLP cat to be delivered. The car really does perform better today. I am keeping this car to give to my son on his 16th birthday. He is 13, has been involved with every mod that I have done to the car and can't wait to have the TSX.

The high mileage isn't a problem with Hondas.

Just do your best to make sure the car was properly cared for.

My 06 tsx has 71,000+miles. I have all the service done by the dealer. I considered it well maintained and am sure I will get alot more miles.

If the price is good, and its in good shape, and has been properly cared for, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. My first car was an old Accord ('82.) It had almost 200k miles, not sure what that equates to in kms, but it still ran great. I gave it to my dad when his K car threw a rod. If you properly maintain a Honda, they'll go over 200k miles easy, and run great all the way.

At 81k, you'll want to look into whether or not the timing chain was replaced yet or not. If it hasn't, not a big deal, but something to consider doing in the near future. And at that mileage, it might vibrate a bit at idle, but thats mostly due to wear and tear on the motor mounts. Its normal, all cars go through that. With good maintenance, you can get back most of the power it had when it was brand new. And the community here can help you out with that.
