HID Lights
A friend of a friend told me horror stories about HID lights being stolen with no regard for how they are ripped from the car. She has a TL along with other relative who have all had them stolen. Anyone have this problem with the TSX?

I haven't heard of this problem on the TSX or the new TL, but it was a problem on the 2nd gen TL. What generation was your friend's TL? From what I understand, the second-gen TL's headlights were desirable because they could be easily fitted into Honda Accords and other cars. The headlights on the TSX and new TL are more unique to these models and so aren't as likely to be stolen.

I heard they were a big problem on the Maximas.

I think the TL may have been a target because early TLs did not have HID and you could probably take the ones out of the later TLs and install them in the earlier ones to get HID (before the later facelift). There is no forebear of the TSX, so I don't think you'll have a problem...
I don;t think the TSX headlights are at any higher risk of being stolen than say airbags, stereos, and wheels....but then again, you never know.

All second-gen TLs (1999-2003) had HIDs, so I don't think the facelift mattered. Actually, I think the lights from the 1999-2001 TLs were easier to steal due to the regular shape of the headlight housing.

the maximas were being stolen because of the transformer being right behind the head light. also the whole housing is held in by little plastic clips. someone tried to steal my uncles headlights outa his maxima with a screw driver. the transformer (i think thats what its called) is what theyre after, its the most expensive part, and bascially can put it into any headlight fixture.
im not too sure about the TSX i forgot to look for it, sometime soon ill check it out n see if can find it.
im not too sure about theTLs but i know the maximas were the first. acutally now that i think about it there was an article about the TSX wondering if they would be targeted also. but this was some time back. id read around but hoesntly id watch where u park your car. most places our car isnt popular and most people wont evne know theyere HID, the only reason why the maximas were stolen was becuase it was an EXTREMELY popular car and people knew about them.

Can't wait to drive
I think the chance of having HID stolen from TSX is slim compared to the TL, since there aren't that many TSXs on the road compared to the TL (past generation). Also, it's a pain to remove the headlights anyway so the chance of being stolen is even lower.

I would still be careful where you leave your TSX. Thieves nowadays don’t want the housing, they want the projector, the capsule and the ballast, then retrofit them into non HID vehicles. An integra is a perfect example. It already has a halogen projector so it's not very difficult to put the TSX hid units in their place. Check out www.hidforum.com. This is all they talk about.

Yeah, That was the old TL and the Nissan Altima
The TL's could be swapped as someone else said,
The Altima was the biggie lol, The Altima attcually had a button below the headlights that would allow for them to pop out, the problem since then has been fixed but anyone w/ a philips screwdriver and 20 minutes could take ur headlights, TSX seems a lil harder to steal
