Hi. Newbie here.
Hey guys. I just wanted to say hi to all. My sister just got an auto Acura TSX in charcoal grey and I was wondering if anyone has any advice. Oh, is $25.9k pretax a good price? Thanks.

I'm assuming non-Nav based on the price.
Any accessories or other options?

Just me, and I'm in WA, so my thinking may be totally wack.
I'm thinking it's probably a bit high - if you're not getting any accessories, you might be able to get them down to $25.5K, possibly more.
Anybody else with a better opinion for the Chicago area?

25.9 is definately better than what I paid for (MSRP)... Though I'm not exactly sure what the going rate for a TSX is more towards Chicago.. Which dealership are you looking at?

My sister got the 25.9k quote at Libertyville Acura and 27k at the dealer in Morton Grove.
Oh, just to clarify, I don't own a TSX. I like it though. On a sidenote, the salesperson at the MG dealership was bsing so badly that the TL was faster and handled better than my car. Also, he said that RWD was very unsafe.

Hmmm...I hate car salespeople that do that..

Sorry. To clarify she put down a desposit today and will pick it up on Monday.
Actually, I can't wait to drive it. The only Honda/Acura cars I've owned were 2 boring-as sin Accords.
Thanks, Revenent. I guess we'll see if he'll deal any further. I checked edmunds and the avg. local price has risen to 26.6k just recently.

You'd think with the crude oil prices so high, that the auto market would be slumping a bit.
Oh well.

Yes, the manual TL would be faster than an auto coupe. However, I didn't mention to the dealer what transmission I had.

I also don't see why so many people hate on the interior. I think that it looks better than the interior of a TL but the TL does have real aluminum and maybe it feels a little better. But that's about it. The 2005 redesign should fix that. The seats rock though.
I wish I had gotten manual but I don't have a second car for heavy traffic and can't drive stick. The gold brembos are so sweet. If all goes to plan I will get a beater next summer (new auto Elantra). Thus allowing me to get the redesigned manual coupe (2007?) for use as a weekend driver. The 2005 coupe (not tempted to buy/can't afford) should have 295 hp but the 2007 coupe shouldl be 305+hp with fresh exterior. Now I just need to learn how to drive stick.

Do you think that would be a good idea? I wanted to get the new Elantra because I start rotations next summer. A couple of the hospitals are in very bad neighborhoods.
Pros:
manual car is cheaper
i'll get a lot more practice
my friends don't have manual cars so no help there. (the ones that know how now have autos)
Cons:
no family member except dad could possibly drive it
this car will be used primarily in heavy traffic
At least I have a long time to decide.

One other thing about getting a stick..you could teach the rest of your fam to drive stick before giving up the car... Just a thought.
I know for me I hated driving my sisters Solara in traffic at first...but after driving it for a while, I got used to driving stick in traffic and I don't mind it anymore. Granted I'm still learning and practicing everytime I drive her car.. But it just takes time and patience...a whole lotta patience.

sticks are cool EXCEPT in traffic. I mean it just gets aggravating. I got way better gas mileage with my stick and it gives you something to do. Obviously you have more control of your car, being that you decide when to shift, but it just a little too much control for me when in heavy traffic.
