Hi, I have a 2005 model with 8300 miles; I did my own oil change @ 5000 (I didnt go to the stealership nor reset the ECU after the oil change)

As of 2 days ago, whenever I start my car, the maintenance required light flashes for like 5 seconds then disappear. Is it just a reminder for me to take the car in for an oil change? Or is it something else? Thanks

 

It's a reminder that your 10K maint is coming up. It's all in the manual........

With the engine off hold down the button thing on the left side of the gauges...(same one to reset mileage) and while pushing in start the engine and continue to hold for 10 seconds. I had the same problem and did this, it reset the light. It is just a maintenance reminder....nothing is wrong. I got my car and had it only 2 weeks when this happened to me and I got the manual out and this is what it said to do!
