im just ready to install my hawks ceramic pads in all four corners do i really need to break in the pads. or i can i just drive it off. what happens if i dont break it in my driving style is pretty easy. im also using stock rotors and planning to resurface all four rotors thanks
I've tried not breaking them in. And without breaking in, the stopping power is about the same as OEM pads and they eat through the rotors pretty quick. Once you break them in, braking is improved a lot and you don't have to use too much force to stop, thus making your rotors last longer.
So yes, do break them in.

Go to an empty parking lot and do the 6-10 40-35 stops
and 3-5 50 hard stops.
I just installed mine last week, first knew i needed to brake in, now braking is really grippy and responsive.
