Got my TSX!

I took delivery of my 05 CG/Ebony Navi TSX late last night and the car is so beautiful and rides so nice. I love it a lot. I just purchased an oem body kit from a group buy so I'm waiting to have that installed when it gets here.

Anyway, I did notice some issues (if you want to call it that). When I go over bumps or bumpy roads, the inside of the steering wheel seems to make some sounds like if there was a broken off or loose microchip or something. It is very weird.. In addition, I notice that the vehicle tends to pull to the left...and once or twice I heard the body make some sounds like if one was bending rusted metal. Very weird.. But I still love the car...and the navi is GREAT!

Congrats! Mine’s still so new the “new” hasn’t worn off yet, so I know the feeling. I’m no expert, but those definitely sound like things to have the dealership look into.

Congrats! Hey, take it back if you have a problem like that. (Just don't expect a rental car, cheap bastards at Acura).

Thanks... Well I may have exaggerated the sound from my previous post..but the sound coming from the inside of the steering wheel sounds like a very light click..but it happens everytime I go over bumps. I searched on the forums and it seems others were having similar issues with the steering wheel. I will contact my dealer tomorrow.

Did you not test drive the car before taking delivery?

Thanks guys.. no i did not test drive my car before I took delivery.. but it isn't really that bad.... maybe it is all the rattle talk i've been reading on here that has gotten to me.. but I have the warranty so I can always take it to the dealer.

Thats a tough position to be in when you order a car, wait several months for it to come in and if you test drive it upon arrival and it makes noises.......do you say ...no thanks......or I'll wait for another one after going through all that? I hope all goes well for you NJTSX because I see myself celebrating like you are in the near future after the sale of my RSX-S.................

Thanks again... Oh I mentioned the "pulling left" issue.. Well, I just wanted to be clear on it. When I drive with my hands on the wheel at the 12 o'clock position, the car drives straight (i think..need to test more)... however, when I take my hands off the wheel, the car's steering wheel will turn slightly left.. (hence the pull left).. is this normal?

That's to appeal to nascar fans.

You can ask your dealer to check the alignment if you think it's off.

On mine, if I take my hands off the wheel, it will go perfectly strait for at least 5 to 10 seconds before it starts to veer off to one side... so there may be some adjustments necessary. Also try hitting the brakes with hands off the wheel... they should be fairly even too.

Either I was lucky, or not very picky... I haven't noticed any bad noises. I thought I heard my right door speaker buzzing, but it was just something I had in the door pocket. lol

Congrats

The steering wheel click has been reported by others. If the dealer hesitates just tell him you are concerned that there is something wrong with the airbag. They should be more responsive when you bring up a safety issue.

Yea, I took delivery of the car tuesday night from Montclair Acura. The funny thing is that Open Road finally got the car yesterday.

congrats, it's a shame that Open Road treated you so poorly. did you check the tire pressure? when i got my car, the psi was near 50, talk about doing the inspection before delivery!

Thank you guys.. I think the steering to the left was just my imagination from being almost an acurazine hermet and reading every single problem on this board. The car tracks straight when I hold the wheel at 12 o'clock and veers to the crown of the road..but I may ask for an alignment inspection just to be on the safe side.

The only real issue is just that noise I hear coming from inside the steering wheel when I go over bad bumps. I informed the dealer and they said they will gladly check it out when I go pick up my license plates.

How are the alignment and airbag related?
