Goodbye TSX

Traded her in this weekend. Sad to see her go. Bought her new 9+ years ago and put 145K on her. Great, great car. She was just too small for my family, we simply out grew her.

Never had any true problems with the car. Seat belt broke at 60K miles, had to get the a/c recharged at 75K and the paint was getting pretty faded. That's it.

Got $5K for her for trade in.

Bought a 2016 Toyota Avalon Touring. Parisian Blue Pearl with black interior.

Congrats on the new ride!

I can understand the TSX getting too small for a growing family. I always called my TSX a 4-door coupe. It really get tight in the back seat with a car and booster seats back there. I don't think the new TLX isn't much bigger in the back seat compared to the TSX? Good thing you still have the MDX when you need more space than the Avalon.

Yeah once we put the baby seat behind the passenger seat my wife's knees were in the dash. She actually had to sit in the back seat behind me whenever we had to take my car anywhere. She didn't enjoy that, as it was cramped back there too. With the Avalon, her seat is almost all the way back and doesn't touch the baby seat. So much room in the Avalon. Its a very underrated car, especially the Touring and Limited trims. Wasn't even on my radar initially.

I am currently stationed at Minot AFB, North Dakota. The nearest Acura dealer is about 8 hours away in Minnesota.

The Honda dealer in town said they work on Acura's, however if it is a warranty claim, I would have to pay for the repair up front and then make a claim with Acura Corporate to get my money back. I simply didn't want to deal with that hassle should anything arise. I would have bought a TLX no doubt if I had a dealer within a reasonable distance.
