Going to the darkside, getting rid of my TSX

After reading the threads comparing the BMW and TSX I've decided that gilboman and Buff Daddy are right, the TSX just won't cut it for me.

I've decided to trade in my TSX and get a BMW 325i (that's right). Its only a couple thousand $ more and the interior isn't as nice, but its RWD. The 6 cyclinder engine is sweet too, I'm almost ashamed to still be driving a 4 banger, its 2004!! Plus chicks dig that blue and white propeller and I could really use all the help I can get.

Are you serious, or trying to stir up some arguements?

Congratulations. At least you're not getting a 325xi --- the increased ride height of the xis makes them look like AMC Eagle wannabes.

April fools on everything except the part about "needing all the help he can get with the chics..." Unfortunately for xizor, everyday is April Fools day for him with the ladies. Maybe it's time to grow out of the cartoons? Keep your TSX, I don't want you bringing BMW's image down.

A TSX owner bringing up ride height? You could pitch a tent on top of the TSX's wheels. I'd stick to ripping on gas milage and MSRP if I were you, at least there is some merit to those.

give it a break, its April Fools, did buying a BMW mean you had to trade in your sense of humor? In all honesty, if you have to troll every thread, isn't there something better you could be doing. Personally since I have no luck w/ the ladies am just sitting at my computer

I do have a sense of humor, I thought that was funny! I do like to stir things up a bit, I do it on the BMW sites as well. I argued the TSX's finer proints when I was cross shopping the 2 vehicles to see if they had any good arguements or justifications for either vehicle. If course BMW people are going to be just as biased as Acura people, but it is still a lot more fun than reading another thread about "what color should I get?"

joking or not, don't get mad cuz it's the truth. there are plenty of people who don't care how many cylinders a car has, or which wheels drive it, they just want that emblem on the front. :P

true..b/c they know the emblem represents something with good performance. it's like a symbol of excellence they don't have to bother to see what's the difference btwn a FWD I4 civic and a FWD I4 "luxury" sedan... :P

lol, but I'll bet if you put a white propeller emblem on a civic, upped the price $5k and sold it at a BMW dealership, it would still sell

You're missing the point. When viewed next to a 325, a 325xi looks like an AMC Eagle.

Not a penny more, 'cause today and today only I am willing to trade my BMW for a TSX...even. Only caveat is you gotta catch me, and I'm gonna be a moving target.

I always love 4/1 on forums, it is so much fun to see who gets punked.

you never know...some people are willing to pay 5k for good service and treated like a human being instead of bums on the streets at the local Acura dealerships. i love 04/01

Oh, I don't know --- some BMW owners and reviewers say (a) if you want handling, get the 3**i instead of the 3**xi, and (b) if you want AWD, go get an Audi:

Exactly. The BMW's AWD system in 3 series is no where close to Audi's quattro. And anyways, BMW is better with their RWD engineering. Plus, the sports package you get in the 'xi' version is different from the regular sports package, which will not stiffen nor increase damping rate on the car. And non sports packaged BMW isn't different from any other softly sprung lux sedan.

I am not an MD, but I have this theory: According to several members of this forum, ownership of a BMW causes pee-pee shrinkage. That blood has to go somewhere; maybe it goes to a couple of brain cells.

LOL, well said, for a 3 year old... I think what you were trying to say is that the 325's are not good enough for you.

The base 325i has an MSRP of $28,795 the base MSRP of the 3301 is $35,895. Since you don't speak very well, I'm sure you need a little help with the math as well. The difference in price is $7,100.
I don't know, would you have paid $34,135 for a 241hp TSX, probably not, because you already passed up the 270hp TL for $33,195. I didn't need the extra power, just the AWD.

You might also want to re-read this article.

Best Sub $35,000 Sports Sedan Competition

BMW missed the cut with the 330i by $895 for the Best Sub $35,000 Sports Sedan Competition, so they had to enter the 184hp 325i. Here is how they finished...

1. Infiniti G35 (260hp)
2. BMW 325i (184hp)
3. Acura TL (270hp)
4. Lexus IS300 (215hp)
5. Audi A4 3.0 Quattro (220hp)
6. Saab 9-3 Arc (210hp)
7. Jaguar X-type 3.0 (210hp)

If you don't think the 325 is a legit BMW, then you sure must not think much of the rest of this list. I might also add that the TL is a far superior car to the TSX and the 325 beat it!

BMW aside, you know the TL should've won based on the numbers and everying C&D said. I wouldn't even bring that argument up again.

Far more superioir in what way? If handling was a big priority then the TSX could very well finsih above the TL. It would also explain how the 325 finsihed above the TL seeing as the 325 falls well below in power, features, etc.
