Cool Going for a bit of a drive...

Hi guys, just about to head out for the longest drive to-date in my TSX... nothing really that long, just about 100 miles from Vancouver. Taking Mrs. to Seattle Premium Outlets

Maybe will come back with some fun stories to tell

Haha... that's sad. I have done too many Vancouver <---> Seattle drives in shity domestic SUV for business trip. I would gladly use my own TSX for those drives if it's not the worries of leaving the car parked over night in the hotel lots

Well I drove at "moderate" speed (10 to 20 mph over posted limit depending on traffic) in both directions... and it wasn't exactly a point A to B then back to A drive (swung out to Surry BC on return) for such controlled experiment.

All in all, I've covered about 355km (~220miles) today on this trip. Tank began the day full, and now it's about 30% remaining. So it would be like about 510km for the tank or ~320miles. I guess that's reasonable given that my car is still quite new, engine got only 5000km (~3100miles) on it

Didn't even know about it... but wouldn't have gone that extra 50miles or so for it anyway... shopping comes first, for today anyway

OK, this will be my 4th consecutive own post in this thread

Not much story to tell on today's drive... that may be a good thing?!
  • Over all, TSX is sooo fun to drive, even though the roads I drove today ain't all that entertaining
  • 5th gear is quite useful for accelerating too at highway speed
  • Car is roomy and comfortable enough for this type of highway driving. Sister-in-law sat in the backseat for total of 3 people on this trip, she has praised the car all the way through.
  • Tires are noisier on I5 (US part) but way way quieter on HWY99 (CAN part), so can I conclude the tires are quiet but I5 is noisy?
Well, two non-TSX things to report...
spotted a Z4 with a FLORIDA plate on the way down South waiting to cross the border. Remember, I am in BC... so not likely to spot another Florida plate over here!!! Cool looking plate by the way, it has a website url (www.myflorida.com) in the top part!!!

second thing is that a stupid woman in a TT was driving with highbeams on. As soon as I passed her, she tugged in behind me and blinding like nothing

OK... report complete

Corrections to my "mileage report" from earlier... the tank has more gas left than what I said, I must have been too tired last night

The needle actually points at about 45% remaining. I also checked trip-meter A (reset after fill-up the night before trip), I actually covered 55km between the fill-up and embarking on the trip (at that point I reset trip-meter B).

So it's more like 55% of the tank (60L) covering 410km (355km + 55km), that would project to be a 745km on the tank! Wow!!! Another way to look at it would be 55% x 60L / 410 km x 100 = 8.05L/100km of fuel consumption which is about 29.26 miles/G

That's pretty damn good!!!
