gift from acura
They sent me a nice chrome Acura license plate holder with my new plates. But that was just my local Acura dealer and not Honda/Acura the company.
The only thing Acura sent me was some lame Acura roadside assist info and extended warranty crap.

We received cookies from the dealer and not from Honda/Acura.
However, at the end of the deal, we also got stuff like Acura mugs, pens, etc. Also got some touch-up paint for free because I complained about a little mark on the car. It was buffed out though.

Lexus gave keychains, cocktail reception
, case of perrier (cause i drank a lot of it while buying the car with my mom
), calendar, touch up paint, winter mats. And of course the slew of thank you cards that came during the first couple months of ownership and then the greeting cards and quaterly magazines.

This has been discussed before, but I received a cutting board with meats and cheeses from the dealer, and a pen from Acura (not the 'space pen'). Touch-up paint would be a much better gift.
Even Saturn has a Saturn magazine that they send to owners... I haven't seen anything from Acura.

Didn't get any of the useful stuff. But, get this, the Dealer sent us flowers. There was a big bouquet waiting on our front porch about a month after we picked up the car.
BTW, I think all Acura buyers will get the Acura magazine. It comes out quarterly. I've been receiving mine ever since I bought the Integra in 90.

I got the standard 2 key rings, pen, leather case for manuals, etc. But I also received cookies from the local dealer and I have been receiving an Acura magazine (someone mentioned that).
The leather case for the manuals, pen, and keyring are all things that are included with every new Acura. As for gifts, they don't do them from the overall company standpoint. I don't want it to sound bad, but they're practical. Dealers may do things on an individual basis though. If a dealer gives you extras, like extra pens, keychains, accessories, etc...do you think that they're just giving them away? I'd feel like I'm being given special treatment to a certain extent, but I'd also think, "What kind of gross was in this deal to allow them to spend an extra couple bucks on me?" Not that I think it's a bad gesture to give little items to people though. I practice it once in a while, but I'm not going to go spend over $30-$40 on someone. Not to be rude, but I just don't want to go too far to raise the questions like those that I would. At the same time, it's not like Acuras have that much gross to where you're making that much on them on your commissions.

Its good to hear the perspective from the other side (i.e. sales).
After the purchase, I got a letter from the service dept. congratulating me on my purchase along with hours for the service dept and contact info. Also got letters from the sales guy who sold me the car to thank me for the purchase and see how I was doing after a few months. I'm also getting the Acura magazine and I found out the dealership had blue and silver keychains with Acura on one side and dealership's name and phone number etched in the other side...so I had the guy grab me a handful. And I got an invitation to their TL party.
Acura gave me jack. Didn't give me anything. While last year when I bought my lexus gs 300 the dealership gave me a $500 gift certificate for a studio to take a family picture or somthin. I thought that was great, and I was expecting something from Acura as well but didn't get anything. It's small things like this that in my opinion make Lexus still on a higher tier than Acura.
I got a keychain and a pen.
I didnt expect much else since the dealer pulled a:
"we'll throw in splash guards"
"we don't throw in splash guards, who told you that?"
"OK fine, since you twisted our arm we will give you the splash guards"
After that, I didnt think they would treat me with Total Luxery Care or whatever they call it. I was a bad customer.

I got lots of gifts.
A bottle of expensive Italian wine, an Acura sweater upon purchase. Then, I got free winter floor mats the next time I came in.
Acura Canada sent me a space pen.
I guess being a repeat customer helps a bit, no?

I got a coupon from Niello Acura in Sacramento for $50.00 off a timing belt[B] replacement, free rental/loaner car w/ a major service, a 10% senior citizen discount AND a free visual inspection w/ any service. A generous gift except for the following:
1) TSX doesn't have a timing belt.
2) I think a loaner car is always offered with a major service especially when it's warranty work.
3) I won't be a senior citizen until 2032.
4) I would hope that they at least visually inspect any vehicle brought to them for service.
5) The offer is only valid from 08/08/04 to 09/30/04.
