Mobil 1 full synthetic. Used in last 2 acuras (integra and TSX). Teg was strong at 140k when I sold it. Drove like new. TSX is still strong at 54k after using M1 since 10000 miles.

I drive my car in Phoenix in the summer and Colorado Rockies in the winter from elevations from 1,000-10,000 feet with the cruise control set to 80-85 mph. The syn oil makes me feel better with my wide range of driving habits.

Is waiting in
You should still do regular scheduled oil changes.. you won't get 10k out of it. My first oil change was free with "Acura" branded oil. After that, I use Castrol Syntec up until 17k and my last oil change at 17k I used Mobil1 Synthetic. (We ran out of Castrol 5w30 at my store) I kind of like the Mobil1 because of the color of the cap.
Also I use a Fram oil filter.

Some would argue that conventional oil like Castrol GTX would do just fine for our engines. In fact, TSX owners manual calls out for conventional oil. Synthetic is really an overkill.

Castrol GTX is a very, very good chioce. If you decide to go with Mobil 1, I would suggest that you wait until you're somewhere around 10K miles to make certain the rings are completely seated.

I'm not having much luck here. I'm considering buying maintenance ramps for the TSX. What do you guys have? Brand or serial #? I'm having a hard time searching with these auto websites. If I can pick one up at Walmart, let me know. Thanks all!

when is it okay to use 10w30? just curious because I've read on other car forums that they use 10w30 on their tegs and accords.
Also, I have about 9800 on my TSX, can I start using Mobil1 synthetic?

@9800 you should be fine with Mobil 1, but just watch your oil consumption. If it increases, switch back to dino oil. Of all the cars I've owned, I found that my Hondas liked syn oil the least. Especially the s2000. Good luck with it!

Burning Brakes
I have used the following oils in my TSX for the past 2 years and have been satisfied with them:
Honda oem oil (first two scheduled dealer offered FOC changes)
Quaker Q full synthetic
Valvoline SynPower
Mobil 1 synthetic
They were all cheap at walmart 5L @ $20.00.
I change the oil every 6,000 km or every 6 months (my wife does not drive it that much).
I have voiced this many times, but I personally think Motul and Royal Purple are really for super high performance engines and for use at the track.
