Gas mileage problem....
I would like your input on this. I had 3 miles on my car when I picked it up and it suposedly had a full tank of gas. I drove it to 100 miles and the gas gage went down to arond half. I decided to fill up and it ended up being 8 gallons. Correct me if I'm wrong but that is 12.5 miles per gallon. I figured that they didn't give me a full tank at the dealer and didn't worry about it. Now I am at 230 miles and my gas gage is already below half. THat would be around the same milage as above. What is going on?!

Don't worry, it's normal. Your engine is still so young that it does consume a lot. It should get a lot better at 500+ miles. Of course, if you always drive it pedal to the metal, things could be different.

If you can look at the shape of that gas tank and predict the rate the gas gauge is supposed to fall. or the part of the volume that's in the top part of the tank, you must have paid a lot more attention in solid geometry class than I did!

There is no way in hell your gas milage is 12 miles per gallon. There is something wrong with your math. FILL UP THE TANK and then see how many miles you get before the low fuel light goes on. The low fuel light goes on when you have about 3 or 4 gallons left. So figure it out that way.

Yeah I took delivery of mine with 45 miles. Lost according to the gauge about 1/4 tank doin about 35 miles of breakin driving (0-3500 rpm). Was kind of creeped out. But now at 170 miles and still above 1/2. So I feel better
What is up with these extremely non-linear fuel gauges? My Aurora would hold full for the longest time and then plummet to 1/2 or 2/3 empty and then hold for a long time. Ran outta gas more than once.
