So I broke down today and went to a local dealer ... just to see the availability of the car I want (the ever so popular CG MT with Navi). Turns out that this particular car is not available at the dealer ... in fact they only had 3 MT coming and none with navi. MTs are VERY rare and MT with Navi are even rarer. Considering how many of us want these cars in certain configurations and many of them are MT (I counted 4 on Kenjis list) I dont know how we're going to manager this. If we order the car now ... they are saying it will be here in 3 months. I know a few car dealers are on this board .. how can we go about getting these cars as a group while at the same time getting our particular configurations?

Okay, I called a bunch of dealers today

Sorry pandimus, it wasn't as easy as I thought.

The dealerships do want a solid number on how many people are buying and if they want navigation or no navigation.

So,
Kenji4861 - MT - navi
Will TSX - AT - no navi
Lukatmyshu - MT - navi
LilCasino
Thomas Y. Liu - AT - navi
Thomas's friend - MT - navi
TSXforme2005
J-Mack
pandimus - AT - navi
Pexx-Corrh - navi
bufo
Johnn76 - MT - navi
Jeffropugs - AT - no navi
emperuman - AT -no navi
SF TSX - MT - no navi
larrymoecurly - AT - no navi
MikesRSX - AT - navi

I need to have a solid choice on which transmission and if you want a navi/non navi.
And let's say the cost will be around Invoice + $500 for a 2005 TSX, how many of you guys are actually into the group buy?

If the car is the price you specified (in fact my limit is a little bit higher) and the color available is in my top three (CG, Black, Silver ... in order) by January 1st then I will be 100% in.

kenji, is that the final price we can expect?? Cant we get it at Invoice?? If this list does hold true, I would expect the dealers to negotiate down to Invoice. Even otherwise, I would agree on Invoice+$500.

I am definitely in, altho I am pretty clear that I want only the NHB/Ebony combo.

I'm still in but curious to know how long it might take them to get all of our configurations in. I would also think he could quote you different prices based on different volumes.

Do you have those other guy's email address's? So we can contact them, cause i was actually interested in starting this weekend. I was possibly thinking of fax attacking them this weekend with all the information.

Sorry guys, I will really do it today..

So far, Acura of Serramonte quoted me $1000 under MSRP, but doesn't sound like a deal. I think it's safe to say at least 10 people are buying for sure.. I'll go attack today at that. It would help if everyone can also ask their local dealership on a quote for 10 05 TSXs. Thanks guys, please be patient.

IMHO i think we would get our best deal working with dealers towards the middle of dec. I will still call around, but i think the group buy alone is not enough to convince them, especially on a car that is so hot and not in stock. But regardless of the heat of the car mid dec they will have an extreme lag in sales cause of xmas shoppers.

Still waiting on many calls, some dealers just gave me attitude saying "no way any dealership can go below MSRP"

Did u get a chance to talk to Peter Chu at Stevens Creek, Acura?? The last time i spoke to him he seemed ready to negotiate around 750 below MSRP.

Emperuman : I spoke to Peter Chu about 3 days ago. This was the exact conversation.

Me - Hi Peter, I represent about 10-15 people that want to purchase an 05 Acura TSX. I wanted to get a quote.
Peter - umm.. we don't have 05 prices yet so we can't sell it to you.
Me - The official price is listed on Acura's website
Peter - oh really? well there's no way we can get 10-15 TSX
Me - May I speak to your manager or someone that knows?
*Get Transferred*
New Person - Hi
Me - *explains situation*
New Person - MSRP, that's the best we can do and we can only get 7 at a time.

But it's good to know that now they are offering for $750 below MSRP. Serramonte offering at $750 above invoice still seems to be the winner.

Can you tell him Acura of Serramonte is offering it for $750 over invoice?

i can tell him that but i am going to wait till we get all our calls back. I dont wont to tell him that and him tell me that he can give me 650 over invoice, and then have one call back with 500 over. (got it?). He is actually the one whom i test drove with. But its an actually saleman, not a salesmanager.

Hmmm... thats interesting. He was a lot more assertive in giving me a price quote. Anyways, i agree that $750 over invoice seems the best deal as of now. Is it safe to assume invoice is 2004's + $500??

I hope no one is in a hurry right now. I say we play it out for about a month. 750 is not even close to what i was hoping for. If we wait till they are hurting for a sale we will be better off.

I am not really in a hurry, but just that I have been waiting on this car for a while, and just want to get to the point of driving it
But urs is a valid argument, we got to wait to get the best deal, altho we shouldnt overstretch ourselves. I'll leave that to u guys.

I have asked this question atleast 3 times till now without an answer. CAN anyone put a figure on the invoice price?? I know we dont have the exact number, but a ball park figure would do fine too.

$24990??

I actually work for a dealership in Norcal selling Acuras. I sent a PM to the lead poster but never heard back from him or her. We have a MT Navi in white. If anybody needs anything let me know via PM. We'll talk from there.

We are getting in our first 05 TSX models any day now.

What is the invoice on the 2005's ?? Does the invoice (as quoted by the dealers) include destination charges or not??

As of right now, we are waiting on some good solid quotes from dealers. unfortunatly the car is so hot we are getting the run around from dealers. So once the invoice comes out rock solid and the heat from the new cars hits the showroom floors we will see if we can get somewhere with it. But the whole plan was to buy at the end of DEC.

Why should we wait for the dealers?? If we are buying in the range of 15 TSXs, cant we deal directly with Acura of North America, and talk some dealer into acting as a drop off point?? I wonder if Acura would think this is a fast way to move new cars.
