Fuse Box Question

This may be an already sated question but I'm looking to have my radar detector connected into my fuse box...actually it's already connected into my fuse box but my real question is where can i attach it too in which it will only turn on when I turn on the car. Cause right now I have it set to the cigarette adapter fuse and apparently it's constantly feeding it power when the car is not on which is not what I want.

Thanks in advance

Get this........... http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...TOKEN=31389396

and use the fuse that says acc (accessory)

easiest way to do it without having to spice or jury rig anything.

Your link was broken. The link leads to a "Error 404 from Parts Express". Can you repost the link again?

Ok so I got that part and i tried setting it up but for some reason it's not working Can't figure it out for the life of me. I have it connected properly I put a 10Amp fuse in it, and it's properly configured. My only concern is that the blue part at the end of the device puzzles me a bit. I connected the the lead wire into the blue part of the fuse attachment and it just seems like it's not feeding it power. What am i doing wrong?

did you ground it?
did you crimp the blue part once you put the lead into it?

it's for people who can't drive sensibly and like to speed in places where cops often set up speed traps ;-P

Anyway, it picks up stray radar signals (ie: bounced off the car in front of you that's been "shot" by a cop...thus alerting you that there's a cop ahead that's checking speeds). Sometimes it might be too late (and is simply a "get ready to be pulled over" signal), and sometimes it can get false positives.

Ok i figured out what was wrong.

The add-a-fuse circuit holder i purchased actually had in it two slots for fuses. Now me going into my senior year for electrical and computer engineering quickly negated the notion that it needs to fuses since it acts in series, and only put it one fuse. Which is the sole reason for why this simple 2 minute task turned into an arguous 30 minutes + 8 beers extravaganza.

QFT "

I find it ironic that in order to use a radar detector efficiently is to in essence speed in traffic since that would be the best circumstance for you to speed and not get caught with the radar detector going off. But the notion of speeding in traffic does prove to be a false cogent.
