Fuse Box Moddifying

Hey, I have currently rigged my radar detector into my fuse box on the driver side but it's currently connected to the cigarette lighter. The problem with this is that it will always remain on. Is there one i should connect it too that will only limit it to being on when I turn on the car?

Also, the spare slot's on the fuse box, if I used one of those will they become active when I start the car or not?

That's odd...my cigarette lighter is always off on my car unless I go to ignition I. Can anyone confirm there's a plug which always stays on?

Well if i plug straight into the cigarette lighter it will only turn on when i turn the car on...but when i run the wire to the cigarette lighter fuse in the fusebox it stays on all the time.

You should run your wire directly to the fuse that controls the Window Wiper Motor.

I posted a picture on the other thread named..
