funny noise.....

Hey all, I just picked up my Carbon Gray TSX exactly 1 week ago. The car is amazing, probably the most amazing I have ever driven at this point. Anyway, lately, if I am at a stop, and the wheels are turned all the way to the left or right and then I start driving and straighten the wheel out to drive on the road, I hear like a knocking noise. It doesnt happen multiple times each time, just once, sounds like dull, like something is getting hit somehow, but I looked underneath, and I cant see anything. Has this happened to anyone else? I plan on bringing it to the dealership to get it looked at. Just wanted to see if anyone else experienced this.

Thanx ahead of time!

I will post again with more info after I bring it back from the dealership.

Thanks for the congrats both of you

I thought about the windshield also, but I can tell its definitely comming from the bottom of the car and it only happens when the wheels are turning to be straight again. I dunno, not gonna worry about it, I am gonna call the dealership tomorrow and schedule a time early next week so they can change my oil also as I have been following http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1443 to break the car in.

Thanks for the replies so far

Hey all, I called the dealership to make an appointment and he said its probably nothing at all and asked if I still wanted to take it in. When I was driving it yersterday I didnt hear or notice it, probably cuz I had some company in the car. I think I may have just been paying way to much attention to the way everything sounded. I am gonna cancel the appointment to the dealership and try not to pay SO MUCH attention haha....

Thanx again everyone.

Before you change the oil, read the owner's manual. It is recommended that you NOT change the oil until 5,000 miles. The engine has a break-in oil that apparently allows the parts to wear and seat better than standard oil -- which is designed to prevent wear. Same concept as putting syn. oil in a car too soon.

Also, do a search on "oil".

Could this be the ABS system self check?

If it is, this is normal. It use to trip me out at first but it's normal.

Maybe these two threads are correlated somehow?

Anyways, I hear them too, but I always thought it was the "ABS" checking itself.

I think it is the ABS self check, because I noticed it happens from a start in general, having nothing to do with the wheels being turned at all. I do believe it is the same thing in this post:
http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20789 I must have missed it when I was searching.

Thanks for the replies. This forum is awesome!!

the windshield thing was an inside joke. try a search on it and you'll see what i mean. if you still don't get it, let me know and i'll add another word to your search.
