true, i guss it's not that complicated.

i noticed, that even when i turn a/c off, it still blows cool air if the temp is set low, and warm if set high.

The temp controls the heater even if AC is off. Unheated air blowing on you will usually feel cold because it's evaporating sweat. Obviously if you are not in recirc mode and it's cold outside, then the air blowing is really cold, too.

Sorry I didn't see that question. I believe the correct command is "Climate control AC off" but don't want to run into the car to check right now. You can ask it for help...

That should do it. After you turn the AC off once, you shouldn't need to turn it off again unless you either explicitly turn it on or put the climate control in auto mode.

BTW for all the college seekers in the crowd, take some advice I wish I'd gotten before I went to school: where you went for undergrad doesn't mean dick. Go to a party school and get a good GPA while having fun and saving money, you'll be far better off later on.
Actually it does. Geophysics from the University of Alberta > Geophysics from the University of Calgary. There's counterexample number 1. Employers know the U of A has a more rigourous program than the U of C.

OK, so I tried this out on the way home today.

1) Voice command: "A/C off" (don't have to say climate control)
2) Voice command: "Fan Speed __" (1-5)

Doesn't have to be in that order.
Piece o' cake.

Off topic(s):

Also curious about when they changed the SAT scale. Is there now a 3rd 800pt. section? I'm getting old...

& yeah, the undergrad Univ. also matters if you want to get into a good grad school. (8 years in college. Apparently I don't wanna grow up!)

Good school does not necessarily = $$ school.

Uh... every single faculty member of a graduate department that I've spoken to (across three schools) has avowed to me that GPA and research work count way more than where you went

And no employer I've ever interviewed at cared where I went to school. Work experience > recommendations > GPA > which college it was.

Perhaps I should have said "professional school." The admissions committee where I attended vet school was very clear that a 3.5 at school A >>> than a 4.0 at school B, and app's from school's C & D were hardly considered.

Also, new clients invariably ask me which vet school I attended.

Not saying you're wrong & you suck, just that I don't agree as a blanket statement.

But yea. There are three sections on the SAT now. Its out of a 2400 range and each section is worth 800. Math, critical reading, and writing. Writing has an essay and some multiple choice questions. Im 100% sure about everything except the names of the three sections.

this is an extreme example, but there are many benefits to different schools. lehigh has a great engineering program, penn state also does, and a good agricultural program.

the most important thing is how involved the alumni are, because they are your "network"

also, a strong career services department is priceless. i can lose my job, call lehigh's career services, and they will send me lists of open jobs, get me in touch with other graduates in my field, etc etc.

but work experience is great than all. recommendations can come from college networks.

so MIT grads don't have it pretty easy? as well as Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, and Emory (sp?). cmon, where you went to school does mean something. whether it's justified for the extra costs, that's the question.

so, going to some county community college and getting a 3.8 is better than going to princeton and getting a 3.2?
Actually, I was trying to say the opposite. That (according to said admissions committee) a 3.2 from MIT>>>3.8 from a known party school. Their point was that they acknowledged that a passing grade from some professors was more difficult to obtain than an A from others, so if they know the reputation of the profs, they can interpret the grades better. I experienced that directly in my 2 semesters of Physics. 1st semester: Prof was an old coot that liked beating up on underclassmen = lowest grade of my undergrad career. 2nd semester: I only finished 1/2 of the final b/c that guaranteed me enough points to make my A if I got 60% correct. Because I did my undergrad at the same school where I was applying, they knew it was really hard to pass the old coot's class & didn't count the C much against me.

But yeah, experience is also crucial. I'm not saying he doesn't need to get a job!

Hey, danishj, what kinds of places have you applied?

Cliff's notes:

danishj needs a summer job so he can pay to air condition his TSX .

In lieu of summer job, danishj is trying to figure out how to turn the a/c off & keep the fan on w/o going thru 50 touch screen steps, cuz that's a pain in the ass.

danishj did apply 3 places, but so far, no gold.

Voice commands are the answer: 2 steps only.
"a/c off"
"fan speed __"

Lot's of other about school stuff, SAT's etc.

im not exaggerating but my age group is very experienced with computers and so while i worked at micro center, i got a dollar raise for being the most efficient cashier. the older employees hated my guts because i came in and was being paid more than they were in just a month. After having a 9 dollar salary for my first job, im not applying at pizza hut or chuckie cheese. thats why im kind of limited. call it a big ego but still, i cant make pizzas. (btw, i quit because my grades were being hurt and i want to stay in the top 10% of my class)
