Front licence plate holder

Hi!

I've had my new car now for a week, and I love it - BUT for the front licence plate holder.

This thing is chunky as, and is completely the wrong size and shape to hold the licence plate.

Unfortunately, where I live I HAVE to keep the front licence plate.

Are there any alternative plate holders of differing size and shape?

Thanks in advance.

Do they hassle people about them there a lot? I'm supposed to have one but don't and cops hear rarely care.
I used to have one on my Integra and hated it being on the bumper so I put it in the grill instead. Don't know if there's enough room on the TSX though.

zip tied though

We should just get hide-away license plates With motorized motors which hide under the front grill and out of sight.

I'm afraid they're pretty strict here. They fine you for anything and everything, those money hungry pigs.

Anyway, mounting directly on the grill is ALSO illegal here.

I can't win can I?

I leave mine inside the car and if I get pulled over, just reach for it to put in the dash. They probably won't ticket you for it, they'll just tell you to put it on when you get home. You could always leave it off, and if you get pulled over for it, tell them it was stolen by some kids over night. They'll just tell you to go to DMV to get a new one.

What about putting the holder on upside down? It'd be in front of the grill still and on a holder so it'd look like its supposed to be that way to the cops.

Surely, there must be an aftermarket dealer who supplies licence plate holders of differing sizes, it's so damn wrong.

Texas State Troopers and the local "po-po" will write tickets (not warnings) for failure to display a front tag. I agree that it looks better without, but not worth the hassle from somebody with a badge and the middle name of Cartman

Actually, I have the more square shaped one. And yes, my number plate is LONGER, and SHORTER than the frame.

Therefore, with the licence plate on, I see the top and the bottom of the frame protruding from behind the licence plate.

Ie., I would be happier with the frame in the first picture, and not the second, which is what I presently have.

Who cares! Its just a fixit ticket. Just keep the plates in the trunk and tell him the bracket got loose and you ordered a new one from Acura. Its only a $15 ticket here in California.

But who knows, maybe in AU its 2 days in the outback with a gorilla ass raping you for not having your front plate on.

I would talk to your dealer and be like, yo dog hook a brotha up with the right sized plate holder!

The dealer had their plate on the front plate holder. When I came home and went to take it off the paint was nicked in several places from the holder bouncing around.

I was forced to leave it on, although I should have gone back to the dealer and bitched until they fixed it.

Anyone else notice this problem with the holder?

I've gone without the front plate for over 8 months now and even when I got pulled over by a cop, he didn't bother me about it. Personally, I think the car looks so much better without the front plate. I don't understand why the desginers of the car don't find some way to integrate the mounting of the front plate into the design of the car to make it flow better.

If you mean the whole thing including the plate and the mounting bracket then yes...I take off the whole thing when I wash my car.
