Found a used TSX...

On Ebay... 06 Loaded, 3600 miles, for $23,600.

Does that sound right? It's VIN is JNKBV61F17M802087 if anyone has a lookup.

Thanks

Seeing as how i was going to trade my used 06 TSX in and they offered me $23k for mine car with 6000 miles on it, i'd say that is a steal. just check the carfax report on it and make sure there are no accidents or water damage or something like that!

seems a little cheap, I am guessing that is the non-navi.

nm, I just found it and it is the Navi version...price seems very low for an 06 with low miles and navi. I would be asking why the miles are so low, get a carfax report on it, it is definitely worth checking out though.

Thanks for doing that! I read on the quick carfax review of the TSX that there were 5 entries in the system. Does that normally mean 1 for transfer to dealer, one transfer to owner and what are the other things?

Could be maintenance items or registration. It should list them specifically.

I bought an 06- NonNavi 6spd with 12k miles on it for @$23k a month ago. Your price sounds pretty good. Mine came with a 35% tint job all around and the Acura factory winter and trunk mats.

That's like $2,000 lower than what a very fair price would be, to give an idea...

Course, buy a car off Ebay at your own risk.

No more talk of sharing carfax reports, and no asking other people to run a carfax for you.

You've been warned.

Based on the fact that a lease id $50 a month more for three years, Navi doesn't appear to bring value at trade in time.

A dealer's initial offer to me for an 06 TSX Navi "certified preowned" with 10K miles for $25,900 and will extend the warranty another 12000 miles so I'd get roughly the same as if I bought new. Well minus TPMS and plus a couple scratches and whatnot. If I wasn't planning on getting a house soon, I probably wouldn't have walked away. Of course I didn't get the VIN or do a Carfax, so maybe that was the smart thing to do. Also I'm wondering if this was the dealership's "courtesy" loaner car, which may explain why it's that low off Blue Book. Or maybe they just simply wanted to clear them out for the next wave of used 07 and new 08 coming in. Still $5K off the price of a new 08 (without TPMS and with a little wear) seems worth it. Comments? (Sorry if this icomes off as a threadjack. It didn't seem worth starting a new thread for used TSX price commentary)

Check the laws in the state. What saved me was the fact that I went to a body shop and the appraiser told me that most states and the one I'm in (MASS) have laws where the dealer HAS to have the files of everything done on the car. I've known things to be left off of CarFax. Check the state laws and then follow through with the dealer if you are buying from them. If not, find out from the CarFax which dealers have touched the car then get the maintenance reports from them. Of course by that time, you may lose out on the car. Better to be safe then sorry though. If a dealer can try and rip me off on a NEW car then they can definitely do the same to you on this one. It wasn't till I demanded the service report and called their hand for them to give me a brand new car.

Well I did a little ebay research on the guy.... It turned out he has bought a headlight, bumpers and mirrors for a TSX on ebay... Well, I questioned it and he said he slid due to bad weather and needed to get the bumper repainted... I'm sure there are other issues so I let it go.

So I started to search Cars.com and I found a pretty good deal, comparing to other cars in my area.

I found a clean 06 with 25k miles, navi, for $24k.. Test drove it and bought it.. Do you guys think this was an okay deal?

KRZ I don't think you did too badly. Granted, the miles are a little high but you also only paid $24K. It will be one year before my 07 TSX with Navi is at $24K and I will have roughly 13K miles on it. I would imagine the guy who drove it before you drove only highway miles so that's a good thing. Did you get the extended warranty?

I didn't get an extended warranty because I ended up buying the car from a toyota dealership.. this car was a trade in.

I don't get how you guys are looking up this VIN...it's not even anywhere close to being an Acura TSX VIN.
