First every car first mod

Hows it going everyone? I purchased a 2008 TSX just last week, my first vehicle I have ever purchased. No help from mommy or daddy. My question is would it be okay to just replace the stock springs with Neuspeed springs and keep the stock shocks? The vehicle has 66,000 miles already on it, but I plan to maintain and keep it for as long as I possibly can, with that being said, any opinions and/or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

congrats-especially hearing you paid for it without the help of your parents.

Replacing springs without replacing shocks won't work (well) if the new springs change the ride height. Get shocks designed for the new springs. Then remember to immediately get an alignment or the car will be very jumpy and unpredictable (ask me how I know, and how much better the car felt AFTER the proper alignment). Make sure it's a good alignment shop, I've found speciality shops for this process are best. Just find out where your local Import Specialist sends his cars for alignment, that's how I found my place.

Actually, you might want to think about doing the reverse. I installed Koni yellows on my 05 about 4 1/2 years (and over 100K miles) ago under the OE springs and haven't looked back. I got a nice drop (at the lowest install setting) and pretty much a stock ride (the shocks are adjustable, but I installed them at the middle setting and they've been there ever since). Just food for thought.

All that said though, if I was to do it again, I'd just go with an A-spec package. Comparable price, comparable drop (maybe a little less), comparable ride, complete package (no R&R of the springs on the shocks), and because of that, a much easier install.
