the first sentence of that thread states "a while ago there was a thread about finding out ur actual moving speed in the little climate control dash" ,thats what i am talking bout!!!

guys, dont Question gpsiir, he is a GPS god ive personally met him and i know what he does for a living. i wont disclose it here but lets just say that if he says its this way or that way you can believe he knows what he is talking about.
you could say he does this for a living

Ha! The chest-thumping begins! If you will carefully read all that I and gpsiir have said you will see that everything matches up in regard fixing on a point on the earth's surface. The ground receiver REQUIRES only 3 sats above the earth to fix a position on the ground. The fourth through the eighth sats provide greater accuracy. I'm sure gpsiir and I both know what we're talking about.
