Finally - got mine...
Finally - got mine...
After going back and forth on the TSX, Accord, Mazda6, TL, and maybe waiting for the Legacy Turbo, for months now, I finally made the decision and drove home a TSX on Saturday!
I posted another thread last week about a slightly used MSM TSX 6SP at a local dealer. It had about 800 miles and was certified, so it has a 5 year/62,000 mile warranty.
Well, if you read the other thread, you know that the dealer was demanding an almost new price for it, so I was going to pass. But he called on Friday and offered another $1,000, so I went ahead and drove it home Saturday!
Considering I was fairly close to buying a Mazda6 a few days earlier, here's a great coincidence - as I was about to drive off in my new car, a young couple was looking at it and were bummed that I had bought it. The guy pointed at his Mazda6 and said that it was a "piece of crap" and had been in the shop seven times already. He seemed pretty desperate to get out of that and into the TSX. Felt bad for the guy, but, if I had any doubt at all, that solidified my choice pretty quick!
I'm so psyched! I've saved my "Honda" swiss army knife key chain from my Prelude days for almost 10 years now; and now it's back on my keychain. Feel like I'm back to the fun of my old 'Lude, but with the four doors the family needs!

To be fair, I think the 6 is pretty nice, assuming you pay around invoice for it. I was gonna get a loaded V6-manual for about $3k cheaper than the TSX (under the "S-Plan"). But when it came down to it, I decided that was the primary reason I was gonna buy it - because it was cheaper.
Money certainly should be a factor when buying a car, but I decided it wasn't worth it to save $3k and not be happy later on. My wife agreed (I've switched cars too many times for her tastes
).
beldredge: congrats on the new car... considering an MSM myself... what do you think of it and how it compares to the SSM... do you see it as a light blue at certain times of day or does it keep that silver look??
just curious...

congrats man. I'm glad it worked out for you. I read up on your thread about the deal. But since the dealer made you a better offer, it worked out for the better.
I test drove the Mazda 6 before I got the TSX. Hated it. Cheezy red interior. I walk out of my house everyday or even look out the window and say ooooooooo....ahhhhhhh!!!!

Yeah, I drove the Mazda 6s in the Mazda Rev it Up event, and the one thing that really turns me off is the way the door closes. It goes--Wham!--Wiggle, wiggle! Not like TSX's Whomp! (The best is still W126 series Merc's)
