Finally Cleaned my Exhaust Tips(Pics Included)
Been thinking about cleaning my exhaust tips for a while now but always got lazy. I don't think it ever was cleaned from the first owner to me. So today i went to CanadianTire(i live in canada :P) and bought NEVR-DULL. It uses wadding to polish and clean chrome and other things. I'll let the picture speak for themselves.
Here's the Product that i bought for 9.99$ CAD

what it looks like

Here's the Before:

and After:

it looks so much better than it was, it was well worth it!

Cheers!

man - awesome! i actually sat down, literally, to attack this job and the whatever chemical solvent of the day i applied did nothing. NOTHING! that isn't the usual scudge on those tips. so, begs the question - what is the U.S. equivalent to nevr-dull??
thanks

their website, says you guys should be able to find it at many different stores like wal-mart. If you can't find anything, someone else says mothers had a good product, just didn't get a name tho.
before getting this, other forums suggested 0000 Steel Wool, along with some chrome polisher would do the job.

I've used this stuff before but not on a car. It works well. Here are some sources...

This link says Pep Boys, Ace Hardware.. shouldn't be hard to find.
I've used this http://www.mrclean.com/en_US/magic-eraser.do Mr Clean Magic Eraser, to clean a number of things. It works really well to clean scuff marks off the plastic around the door. I have no idea how it works, just wet it and scrub things away. I wonder if it would work on the exhaust tips.

A cheap fast and good way to clean the exhaust tips is using Steel Wool and Paint Thinner. The tips will look brand spanking new, I do that every six months or so for a thorough cleaning in between on my weekly car washes and waxes I just use some wheel cleaner always keep em bright and shiny. It was a tip from my Buddy that owns a really good Hand Car Wash and Detail Center in Queens, NY.
For those of you in Queens or Long Island that are looking for a good Hand Car Wash that does a Quality Job go to "Middle Village Hand Car Wash" its on the corner of 69th and Elliot in Middle Village. His name is Brian tell him Rob with Acuras sent you....

Mine were nasty too so I was considering the NEVR-DULL route. I know that stuff rocks but I just wanted something a bit "more". I decided to head to my local exhaust shop and have them put on some 3.5" stainless tips. Couldn't be happier. It was $140 out the door for both tips and labor. Not a cheap option but wow it just really looks great. Subtle but very nice. Just perfect and worth every penny IMHO.

Thanks Gato. Yeah they cut the stock ones off and welded on the new ones. Here is a shot from farther back. Again, subtle but much better look I think. If anyone is in the Atlanta area let me know and I'll hook you up with info on the shop. Great guys over there.
Wow, those new tips look beautiful! The thinner and steel wool is a good bet. I personally did mine with Wheel cleaner and steel wool, then, applied some Brasso and they look like new.
A lot of people have their TSX sparkling clean, but don't pay attention to this detail, that makes a world of a difference!
