Father-Son-TSX bonding...
My dad visited us this weekend. I kept the TSX a surprise until he got here. He was very impressed with it. My dad is a real car nut. He has owned a whole ton of sports and luxury cars, from Mercedes to Porsche, to a '39 Chevy hot rod, and even an Integra back when it first came out.
We took the TSX for a test drive out in rurual hilly PA. He was a bit timid with the car at first, but every turn he kept pushing it and the smile on his face grew wider and wider. By the end, he was taking the turns hard and the TSX just did its business. We had a blast!
Afterwards, he said that it was the best handling car he had driven since his old Porsche that he had back in the '80's. He especially liked the steering and responsiveness. He also couldn't believe the price tag.

i love when my dad and i are the only people on the freeway. chicagoans, you guys should know about the express lane on the kennedy
. coming home from Bulls games, he takes those gentle curves going 80 or 90, what a rush, even for me.
as for my style, i live for a nice hairpin going 40 whenever i can do it legally. i love how well the car handles. enthusiasts talk about how it resembles the handling and responsiveness of an Integra Type-R. The handling of the car more than makes up for the lack of true quickness. I'd take a better handling car over a straight line beast any day. Look at the s2000, it can take the 3.5L 350z or G35 straight line big boys on a road course any day. Journalists pick the s2000 over anything in its class because its so fun to toy around with.
Talking about this makes me happy and makes me love my car more. Oh, god, I LOVE MY CAR
. Thank you, Honda, for making an economical sports sedan without comprimises. Now I need to go give it a hug and a slap on the tail light
.

I have the reverse - my stepson came with me to pick up my car from the dealer, and fell in love with it on the spot. Has driven it on a number of occassions, and likens it to his old Saab droptop. We take it out on the East River drive (Kelly Drive now) along the Schuykill when there isn't much traffic and watch this thing fling itself around the tight unbanked corners; clings to the road like velcro. Watch him grin like a cat............. whip by bimmer 5-series behomiths quickly, leave suvs in the dust. Love it.

My dad has a serious girlfriend who has a BMW Z3, which he refers to as "our car" when talking to her, so I think he has another outlet for his sports car lust at the moment.
BTW, gocubsgo55, my old college roomie is now an Illinois State Trooper who patrols that stretch of road, so watch it!!!

I have to agree with iamhomin. This is gonna sound really corny but I know my dad loves me but I honestly dont think Ive ever heard him say I love you/Im proud of you, and I dont think ive ever said it to him. Hmmm.. I think it would just be really weird if either one us said anything like that. lol I'll call him and the first thing he usually says is, do you need money? and then the convo ends with, study hard!
