Fastest you've driven your Tsx?

I'm still in the break in period for my car, so the fastest I've gone is only 65 mph. Anyone know the speed governor for the Tsx?

Driving 142mph in a TSX with stock brakes is about as safe as letting some bum shoot you up with heroin with a dirty needle under some underpass. Hell I can barely stop when I'm going 65.

There's an aftermarket add-on that may help. You do have to cut a hole in the floor, but that's about it. From there, just put your feet through the hole in the floor and drag 'em on the ground. The dang thing will stop on a dime. :P

I haven't met with any speed governor up to 143mph. I am going to experience fully if there is a speed governor, but not on the highway, I'll do it as soon as I can find the right guy to talk to at the Blainville PMG track.

I did 105 before. That was fast enough for me. If i want to go faster I'll take out the Evo.

Max of 129 mph (5AT) on I-5 in central CA. It seems really hard to push beyond that for some reason. It takes a while to get just from 120 to 128, and about the same amount of time to get from 128 to 129. I think I could have reached 130, but it was taking too long and I backed off because of traffic.

Tops was @118mph. It didn't feel like I was going that fast though....

Honestly, it felt smoother than my brother's 02 tl going @ 115mph.

Basically the car is running out of power for the amount of drag.

So then top speed is more likely drag-limited than governor-limited?

I'm still in the break-in period too, so I generally keep it at 70 on cruise control, but I've taken my Corolla to 110, which pinned it, and my Camry to 125, which is about as fast as it'd go, on the I-5, so I'm pretty sure I could get the TSX up to 140+. It's supposed to compete with the C230 after all and my friend did 130 regularly on his 240 with no problem.

Lung Fu Mo Shi is right though - it's really hard accelerating past 100 because of drag. This of course makes it a lot more dangerous as you have to keep going at this ludicrously illegal speed for longer and cops on the 5 will have your liscence for it. I'm sure those of you who've driven on it have seen the "200,000 liscences taken here last year" sign.

I'm going back to college on the 14th, but I don't want to push it until it has 1000 miles on it and right now it's only at 420. Soon as I get past the break in though, I'm going to some Indian reservation nearby and flooring it. For those who don't know the tickets you get on those don't count against your DMV record - so just a fine, no points.

I've had mine up to 200 km/h...about 120 mph for all you American folks...that's the fastest I've ever gone in a car.

How did it feel? Totally stable...not a shake, shimmy or shudder anywhere!

BTW, congrats to the U.S. for it's win in today's Gold Medal Junior Hockey game...even if the winning goal was scored by Canada

Later!

I was at 160kmh and everything was stable except for the driver. Me no like high speed. Inside a car, we resemble the properties of Jello in a high speed crash. SPLAT!!
The worst result was some bug guts that I failed to remove right away, which are now permanent stains on the paint.

The problem with that is that by the time you reach 120mph, you'll have passed through the boundaries of the reservation and you'll have to turn around!

No problem, just make sure the VSA is on and make a full-speed U turn.
