Fair spoiler price?

Fair spoiler price?
Well this is my first post because, well, I just signed my lease Saturday and await delivery on my new Black/Ebony Nav TSX. I am thinking about adding the rear wing spoiler, the dealership wants $800 for it. Do you all think this is a reasonable price? I was thinking no more than $600 but I can't seem to find out what others are paying. Thanks a lot.

What? $800 for supplying and fitting the trunk spoiler?
Definitely no way hose-A!
It's pre-painted, and can be had for about $450, IIRC - $473 odd from handa-accessories.com.
An hours labour - $100?
So, $600 tops wouldn't be far wrong.
Mind you, for that money, you're near to putting on a full lip-kit, albeit OEM, but even so.
Personally, I'd save your money, and buy the ducktail replica from supershyguy, and get on board for the Mugen '04 replica lip kit.
Either that of keep the money in your pocket, you'll never know when you might need it more than the car does.

that's what I thought! Dealer said he'd go down to 750 but I still said no and that I'd think it over. I'll call them tomorrow and offer 600, if they don't want to do it I could always get it online from the site you mentioned for about $500 shipped. I know a guy at a body shop (friend of a friend) that would give me a deal, no more than $100 to install it. Not sure what's involved to install on my own but I guess I'll look into.
That mugen replica kit is nice but with all the new york city and queens driving I do it's probably too low to the ground and I'd smash it up in a hurry. thanks

I just got the OEM wing spoiler painted off ebay for $399 (+$15 s/h) from an acura dealer in Wayne, NJ (openroadacuraparts). Of course I talked to my local stealership and they wanted $156 for installing the thing.........can you shay BS. I look on the acura estore and the difference between buying the spoiler and buying and installing the spoiler is like $60. Talk about a crock of SH*T. Well off to shop other local dealers to see about the install.

Lip spoiler is not permanent. It is held on by 3m Tape.

My dealer wanted $748 for the wing spoiler installed. You have to drill holes, which is more than I'd ever to myself to my own car - I'm sure there are shops out there that would do it for less than dealer.
Lip spoiler - $60 shipped to door, 15 min install, no holes.

When I brought my car back in April 05. I negotiate my car WITH spoiler installed! I offered them $26,000 (6sp no navi) and end up paying $26,400 WITH spoiler, RUBBER MATS and TRUNK TRAY!!

Yea, I should have negotiated that initially as well. I think I may hold off, they said they'd do it for 700, but it's just a cosmetic thing and I want to keep my monthly payments down, that adds another $20 month over 36 months.

I'm going to sell mine but mine is silver You can consider www.hondacuraworld.com too. I paid more than 200$ for installing mine for sure at Acura dealer.

As the car is leased, is it really worth (for vanity sake) to spend $600?
Personally, I'd do without or spend $60-80 on the M3 lip from ebay if I had to have something.
Don't really think the M3 one adds anything, and IMO, cheapens the car as it doesn't work. It's too svelte and wispy looking, and looks lost/out of place.
If you're going to do something, you may as well do it right - and the EDM ducktail rep that Supershyguy has (stuck on, no drilling like the OEM version) would be worth the $300 outlay, once painted.
Either way, those options are only worth contemplating if you plan on buying the car once the lease period is up.

Ill, dont get it. Get the ducktail spoiler from SuperShyGuy for 150 and get it painted for like 100. It looks way better than any spoiler for the tsx.
