European plates
I was thinking of putting a european plate below my front state plate.. sounds gay but still looks kinda nice.
Anyone know how to mount it in a clean manner?

i'm thinking it's only legal in states where the front plate is not required. i agree.....i would either put one or the other, but not both. looks too funny in my opinion. i had one on my car before i got pulled over for it.....now i just have the state plate in the front. i hate getting tickets for small things like that, so i gave up.

I'm just addicted to euro stuff right now (its a phase). I want LED driving lights, euro plates, audi style wheels, etc.
Maybe I'm just weird.

I have thought about doing this for a while. The thing is i know where to get the plate but Plate Holder is the question for me how to install it. I know there is a universal holder but im not good with universal stuff. That is whats keeping me from getting it.
So odannyboi how hard is to get the holder on the TSX?

I have to say, if you aren't in Eruope, and your car isn't registered in Europe, a European liscence plate is incredibly tacky. It's a horrible idea. No matter how you do it, it makes you a poser. Don't do it.

IMO its tacky to have a Acura TSX with european plates, as opposed to a Honda badged tsx (accord) with euro plates.. since there are no tsx's in euro.
Anyways, to stay on topic. I got one too, but i'm unsure if I want to do the edm conversion or not...
CL9 would be covered by the usdm license plate.. (rear)

why did u get gb for the plate? you guys are missing the whole point of the euro plate... for me and all of my friends, we have the polish flag ones which represent our heritage, and not to mention a symbol of our crew. some use stickers, we use euro plates in place of state plates. tacky or not, it looks good on the front of the car and i get nothing but compliments for it

Personally, I don't like seeing people around here with european plates. That fad started because people wanted to make it look like they were loaded with money and were able to import the real thing.
As for representing your heritage, there are stickers, license plate frames, etc.

I know this post is old, but do you mean acuras were imported from another country? Or that acuras are japanese cars? Last time I checked, they don't make Acuras in Europe or Japan, so I don't think they were "imported" here (e.g., they were designed and made for the USDM). And if it's the latter..."no duh."

And the fad of euro plates started just like the jdm fad... people wanted their car to look like something it kinda wasn't. I still like the look of euro plates (although it doesn't look right on japanese cars except maybe a lexus since it has european styling).

I have an '01 TL with a Deutschland plate on front. Maybe it's a phase I'm going through, but I think it looks pretty cool, it's something you don't see everyday. Yes I know my TL was built in Ohio, which means it's not one bit European in anyway whatsoever, so it's pretty much whatever floats your boat. It's easy to set up, if you're still thinking about doing it.

the fad actually started because if your in the military and you get stationed in another country all moving is payed for so they would take there car with them, then when they return to the united states they would keep the tag to show what country they were stationed in. visit any military base, other countries tags are EVERYWHERE and they arnt on car enthusiasts cars.

Personally, I think the fad is a little retarded. Don't get me wrong, if you are doing it because you personally like it than go for it. Don't let anyone tell you that what you like is dumb. However, doing it for a fad is the retarded part.
I get a kick out of kids who try to play their car off as being from Europe when they've got five or six issues that wouldn't have allowed the car to be registered in Europe in the first place. Simple things like side marker lights, rear mounted fog light, left drive cars without extended rear view mirror for right drive roads. Biggest giveaway? The so-called "Euro" taillights. Uh, in Europe the lens must be the color of the purpose rather than a clear lens and colored bulb.
Now having just moved to AZ from GA and having worked at Fort Stewart with the GSDF I can tell you that very few cars (at least there) had Euro plates. First, cars bought outside the US take a lot of money to make ready for import to the US. Second, most states have laws against displaying a license plate (as opposed to a novelty plate) for another state/country than what is on the back of the car. Also, the military has changed. Rarely will a service member get an OK to transport a car unless they are somewhere like mainland Europe with a family. The type of service member that Euro plates appeal to the most are younger, and those don't usually get an OK to move cars.
