what's your time length? 48 months? 60 months?
If you go to the official Acura site and go to Purchasing, there is a backward payment calculator for going from monthly payments.
Hope that helps.

Payments are lower than what you initially expected? Nice.

Yup. Do a tire upgrade, for starters.

Jeez, I'm only going to have about $2000 dollars to put down (unless I put some on a credit card). I'll probably be looking at payments of 480-500 dollars.

6000 down, 60 months at 4.99%, $411/month.

I had $1000 off MSRP.

So 7k-8k down would bring you to about 300 something at 60 months.

Go to edmunds, they have and finance calculator, I love that thing because it also counts tax and title.

Keep in mind that every $10,000.00 that you finance (assuming about 5.5%) will cost you approximately $175 per month over a 60 month term.

So, if you were to assume a $27,000 TSX plus 7% tax, title, etc. and financed for 60 months at 5.5% you are looking at about $472.00 per month for a payment.

Do *not* put anything on your credit card unless you are doing that for airline mileage or points or such - and can then pay it off that month.

Remember - credit cards are not 'free money' - they should be for convenience only. If you cannot afford the car now, why not save the money and wait until you can? On top of it - if you wait, you'll be able to get a far better deal on the car than you could right now.

Instant gratification can be deadly when it comes to finances...

99% of all dealers won't let you use a credit card. They get hit for a 3% transaction fee.

I had about $800 off MSRP on a non-navi with rear spoiler. Taxes were about $1600 (Your trade in is not taxed) my down payment was $7,000. So, I financed ~$21,800 for 60 months at 3.9% and have a $402 a month payment.

My dealer let me put the first $2000 on my credit card. (Which, Mom, I did pay off that month! ) It's a great way to get free miles.

All dealers that accept credit cards are required to let you use them for down payment. If they don't, you can report them to the card companies and they can lose their merchant acount. Refusing cards is a BIG no-no.

And large businesses like car dealerships aren't paying anywhere near 3% transaction fees. More like in the low 1%'s.

My old dealership had a $1500 limit. I had a few people that wanted to put the whole thing on their American Express for the miles. Why not try?

Me...
No money down 60 mo. @$506 per mo.
