Door closing sound
I've had my tsx for almost 2 weeks now and i've never really noticed it, but it seems like the front two doors close with an ugly "thunk" noise. As in the back, the noise is more of a "thump." If I actually slam the front doors the noise is heard. If I do it gently, it's a nice thump. All this is from the outside BTW not from the inside. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just in my car?
Another thing: I forgot what post I read this from, but they said the wipers are huge and annoying. Now, I can't stop starring at that thing. It IS annoying and also an eye sore. Not a biggie, but I thought I'd mention it.

I noticed a different sound when closing the fronts vs the back. I also noticed that the back doors are very light to open and closed compared to the fronts.

It's also because the front doors have a larger surface area (hence, more material and more chances of vibration/echoing). It's actually been annoying me lately, and I'm looking into dampening materials that are like dynamat and see if that solves this particular issue.

I hate the sounds of the doors closing. And to think that Acura made such a big deal in their marketing material about how engineers worked on the "door closing sound"
Apparently dynamating the doors helps alot.

Yeah, they claimed to have specially designed the door seals.... that was something that added to my believe that the car is very refined in terms of sound proofing....that's what I thought before I got the car anyway.
But I also remember watching a BestMotoring episode last year where they tested the Accord Wagon, and compared the door closing sound to other cars like Primera, Atenza, etc, and the sound was awesom. It was a solid 'thump' Maybe the hard plastic used on the TSX's door panels has something to do with it?? Since the JDM Accord interior = US Accord interior, which has better door-shutting sound....

Yup, Acura.com's TSX section clearly states their engineers have been working hard to acheive the luxurious "thump" sound. Apparently, we got scammed on this one.

I added multiple layers of Dynamat and that made quite a difference in the door closing thump. However, I have found that it takes very little force to shut the doors (front or rear) anyway. The harder the slam, the worse the sound IMO.

Your right, if you close them softley...every thing works and sounds great. I guess this is what the engineers worked on. But if you apply any kind of force it sounds like a tin can. I wish they sounded a bit more like audi doors when closed forcefully.

Same here, I basically give it enough force so that the door barely moves past the last 'notch' and then it will close itself.... talking about gentle..... but it still makes that hollow sound at times, and every single time if the window is opened.

Good to know i'm not the only one. It is annoying but it's not so bad...just don't slam the door! I do think from the inside, you can hear a nice thump, but outside...that's something else.
