doh! wifey hit a curb...

I spent all week getting the car all nice and clean for the skyline drive meet this past sunday and then saturday my wife smacked a curb.

She was parked on an incline and the front of the car was pointing downhill. She put it in 6th instead of reverse and moved forward over the curb in the parking spot. Once she went over it about a foot then backed up. When she backed up, the right side of the bumper ripped off and even lifted the tabs below the lf headlight up and out. I got there, rigged the bumper up so she could get home and then left. On her way home, the rf fender liner and the splash panel/belly pan came down and got chewed up all to hell so long story short, now SHE has to buy a fender liner, splash panel and a bunch of clips but i have to install them. Well actually i'll drag her out to help.

Anybody have any they don't need and want to get rid of? do they make aftermarket splash panels, like aluminum or something? how about a splitter that extends back like the splash panel?

Any mods i can do while i got this thing off?

Some people just aren't careful with their stuff. My dad happens to be the car-abuser between my parents. My mom isn't exactly the car detail queen (she tells me that's what she has me for), but my dad puts all kinds of unbelievable scratches and crap all over the cars and doesn't think twice about it.

Seperate cars and bank accounts are keys to a long marriage.

Every scratch and ding on the TSX was done when my wife had the car. I purchased the car for her so I can't say anything besides, "It's just a(nother) scratch, don't worry about it sweetheart, these things happen (only when you are driving)".

i don't know what is worse, when you commit and act of stupidity on your own car, or when someone else does it? hmmmm

It's always the wifes fault when it comes to scratches/dings dents haha. My wife backed into a freaking brick wall with out GMC envoy last week (she is 5'4 and her excuse was she couldn't see how close she was cause it's hard to see out the back... ahem B/S.. lol) It isn't bad at all and really just some scratching and scum marks on the rear bumper bumper...It wouldn't matter so much but consider it was just in the shop bc of concerte damage (long story) and the entire truck was repainted to match the TL-S.... makes it that much worse. she said she wouldn't of hit the wall if she was in my car bc of the camera... I don't think it would have helped her to be honest lol....

It's all our faults though cause we are the ones who got married and this is just part of the life we asked for when we proposed! I saw a G35 sport with four flat tires and obvious suspension damage yesterday bc it was raining and the driver ( a woman obviously) went around the highway onramp too quick and jumped the curbed... If she had the family suv she might have been alright..

lol, true. We have our own accounts and 1 joint account. Only been married 6 months but damn money talk can cause prob's. The good thing, I guess, is that when she did it, she was crying so hard because she knew she hurt my baby. ha, I kindof wanted to laugh because of how shitty she felt but didn't feel like getting smacked.

My wife ripped the bumper off my Eclipse several years ago. I got her back this weekend a little...I screwed up myself and pulled up too far in her Beetle and scratched the bottom a little. Not visible though so hardly the same

Same deal here. 30 happy years of marriage next month.

That being said, separate bank accounts and cars. She took my old car and put more scratches on it in 2 months than I did in 4 years.......

We must be related because we married sisters.

My wife closed the garage door down on my back bumper about a year ago. My then 3 year old daughter was in the back seat said "oooowwww daddy's going to be mad at you!!" Smart kid.

I ended up not being mad though....just fixed it and moved on.

My wife tried to drive the Jeep out of the garage with the door closed. It was my fault because I wasn't home and she real never wanted the Jeep any way.
