Does you TSX paint chip?

Just wondering if you've noticed the TSX's paint chip? I washed my car in the weekend and noticed small paint chips on the side passenger and driver doors. Noticed another on the trunk. I did some research online and seems like the paint used on japanese cars isn't all the good anymore. Is this true?

Thanks.

Yeah, I have a lot of paint chips over the body of my car, esp on the hood.

Usually it comes from either people dinging their doors into yours in parking lots, or the ones on your front hood come from little rocks from things like freeway driving or driving behind (usually) larger cars/trucks.

It sucks a lot but it just doesn't hurt any more, since there are so many.

What I heard was that Japanese cars stopped using environmentally harmful paint earlier than domestic cars, and the tradeoff was weaker paint. What they tried to do was develop a stronger clearcoat to put over the paint, but I guess it's not strong enough.

I don't know if you notice, but it seems like there are more Hondas out there with peeling paint in general. This could also be because Hondas last so long that the engine outlives the paint on the car. Either way, I see them!

my 06 with 56,000 miles had alot of chips-lousy paint. Driving on route 95 from NC to NJ and back is where I got most of them. I could be in the lane next to a truck driving furthur back from it and still get rock chips. No door dings (knock on wood)

I guess I was right... I don't have any door dings (know on wood too!) but I got some small paint chips on the side door which aren't really noticeable. I must have probably got them by driving close to or next to some trucks on freeways, plus sometimes the cars in the next lanes also tend to skid/throw small stones out from their tires sometimes (you know what I mean). I recently got some touch up paint to take care of these paint chips though...

If you guys are interested in buying touch-up pens, check out:

Thanks.

The dealer gave me the pen free. It looks good from a distance.

As careful as I am with my car, I still get the tiny chips. I just touch them up. I do have a clear bra that helps some.

Paint chips

Virtually every forum has complaints about paint; check out the BMW and Mercedes forums, for example. Somehow, it is easier for me to take on a car that cost half as much but serves the same purpose. I am very happy with my TSX.

Luckily, there are lots of solutions.
