does your disc changer play burned cd's because mine doesn't play burned cd's. I wanted to know if that is true with all your disc changers as well, or is mine not functioning properly. My cousin has a TL-Type S, and the disc-changer play burned cd's in there, so I don't understand y the TSX wouldn't??????:'(

both CD-R and CD-RW works in my cd player, but people on this board warned me not to use CD-RW due to the possibility of it jamming the cd player

My OEM changer will not play the Burned CD's in my Honda but my dealer option 6-disc will play discs. [I have an Accord]
Seems kinda funny, I think it is more a matter of what type of disc was used to be burned and the software used to burn the disc.

I don't have a TSX yet...looking to get one in Oct. 2005.
My current 1999 Honda Accord will not play any burned CDs except for the brand "Verbatim"...and even now it's becoming difficult to play those too.

weird.. I have had no problems with multiple brands.. even memorex. The dealer told me that you have to "complete" the disc before it will play in the car... my burner doesn't give me the option (with CD-Rs, at least), so I assume it does that itself. Are you not finalizing your discs?
I really have no idea what I'm talking about, just going on what he said.

Mine will play burnt CD's. I saw a thread somewhere warining about playing burnt CD's with paper stick on labels. Evidently the CD's get warm enough to allow the paper to fly off will playing thus messing up your changer.

My last set of 100 CD-Rs was $10 with a $10 rebate.

A couple of things you should consider when burning CDs for your car:
1)You should "complete" or "close" your session when you burn a music CD. Apparently some players can't recognize the track infos and times if the session of the CD isn't closed. You should have this option somewhere in your software, and if not, I suggest getting a better program, such as Nero or Roxio. The Acura manual even suggests closing the CD if you wanna use burned disks (how thoughtful, huh?)
2) Use name brand CD-Rs: Sometimes if you use the cheaper, bulk brands, the CD may be less readable on CD players. I tend to like Verbatim and Fuji blank CDs. Also, I've read that even the color dye used on blank CDs can affect how the laser reads the CD, so perhaps you should try different brands to see if they play on your player.
I've been using Verbatim (blue underside) and Fuji CDs and they've been working good on my TSX.
I hope this helps out a bit.,

I suspect it's the CD-creation software, not the CD. I can't believe the physical disks could be so different of the same spec and type. Publishers (studios) buy no-name blank CDs in massive bulk quantities at such a low prices. I can't imagine that a specific consumer brand (or lack of one, such as a generic no-name disk) making any technical difference about playability. It has to be the software or the drive that's the variable.

Sometimes the speed of the burn (i.e. 12x, 16x, 24x, etc.) can affect a drive's ability to read a burned disc. I have CD-R's spec'd for only 16x, so I never try to burn beyond that speed. A friend of mine burned a disc for me at 36x and my older CD-ROM drive (8x) couldn't read it.

My changer plays CD-Rs fine... but I'm having some problems with Super CDs [SACD format]. And today my changer kept on popping out my 4th CD for no reason as soon as I got to the end of CD 6... then went to AM. WTF.

It's related to the CD burner. I have one CD writer where the cds play fine for a while and then start to sound crackly and staticy. My other two work fine.
As suggested, try different software or a different computer. It happened to me with the same brand so I don't believe that's the problem (although generally buying name brand blanks is better).
