Does the "Range" Function/fuel warning work?

Supposed to tell you how many miles you can drive left on the gas you have. Mine is completely off. The other day it said zero, and I was still driving around. I realize I didn't have much gas, but it is definitely off by at least 50 miles or so. The fuel warning light on the 04 and 06's I have had also come on with almost 4 gallons of gas left, which is quite a bit.

Yeah, it's off but it's just a conservative measure so no owner turns around and sues Honda for a faulty range computer.

seems like a gadget that isn't necessary if it is going to be so far off. Also the fuel warning light comes on too early.
