Does anyone have esurance car insurance?
I got my new GEICO quote reflecting my accident in July: $2250/6 mos. This is obviously an incredibly high number. I went shopping around and stumbled on to esurance, an all online provider. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them. Thanks for the feedback. BTW, they quoted me $1282/6 mos. Wow.

I used to have esurance, but I cancelled with them just after I purchased the TSX. The TSX apparently wasn't in their database, so they gave me the same rates as an Acura TL-S. They even put that down as the car I owned! Because of this inaccuracy, I decided to switch. You may have different luck, however. You should try calling them up, since it's possible they might have the TSX in their database now.
I now have insurance through 21st Century, but I don't think they have coverage in IL.

Consumer Reports rates car insurance companies from time to time, it might be worthwhile stopping by your public library and looking for the article.
$2250 for 6 months seems rather steep for by any measure, even given an accident. Is there more to this?

Mine's just over $2k/6mos as well, with USAA. I'm 23/m/single with one accident claim a couple years ago. I need to drop some coverage to lower my rate, but it'll still be higher than anyone a little older, female, and/or married. It's disgusting.

Ouch.. I just ran a sample quote. I'm in south FL, but I entered my parents' address in northwest FL, and my rate dropped by 25%. I didn't realize there was such a big difference. (There's probably more crime, more traffic, and more expensive cars down here.)

a) sign up
b) get billed every month for 3 years
c) cancel
I never had any claims or anything, so I don't know how those might have been handled.

I've been happy with them, been with them for about 3 years now I believe. Had 4 different cars with them. Transitions between cars were seemless. I've had to use them twice for claims. Once for vandalism/theft, and another time for a major accident (not my fault, crazy driver was speeding and ran stop sign and hit me). All in all I've been fairly darn satisified and have remained a customer. About a year ago they switched my underwriter from Argonaut to Esurance and I'd say that that the claims are better and rates are cheaper (I had one claim with each underwriter). Incidently since both situations were not my fault and they were able to recover damages from parties then they didn't raise my rates. I'd give them about a 9.5 out of 10. (only a 9.5 because you gotta leave room for improvement)
