Does anyone elses TSX do this?

Today, I drove home around 9:00 and as I was getting out, My foot hit the brake pedel and my brake lights lit up..... but the keys werent even in the ignition??

I tried it again, and sure enough, the brake lights lit up without the keys in the ignition

does anyone else's TSX do this?

EDIT: oh crap, I put it in the wrong section.... can someone move this to general discussion please

thanks

Are you new to driving? All cars do this not just the TSX.

All cars do it. Quite helpful when you're helping someone push the car, and the driver decides to ride the brakes to give you a hard time. Or maybe to flash S-O-S when a gunman is in your backseat with a gun aimed at your head (saw that at a movie). Or maybe if your ignition switch is bad and the car dies while you're rolling to a stop...

Although probably they designed it like that so that the brake lights don't light up with a delay after the brake pedal is stepped on (ie: if it had to travel through the computer, etc...). A simple circuit where the brake pedal triggers the light...

but anyway, that's just a random thought that's going off on a tangent...

i do that from time to time when my garage door is closed to check if all my brake lights are working. i've seen some other TSX's where their center lamp doesn't light up sometimes.

I once had a car that when you opened the car doors the interior lights came on and then when you closed the door the lights went off. Do you think that was a factory defect?

When I first got my TSX, when I put it in reverse, these pesky white lights came on in the back. I spray painted the clear part of my taillights to hide this. Do you think I should have taken it back to the dealer instead?

lol

Now now now, let's not give 'em a hard time. Not everybody is automobile literate.

A friend of mine is so clueless, that his truck sat for weeks and all it was was a dead battery! I came over and he was like, "yeah, my truck is dead." I ask him what the problem was, and he says that nothing turns on when you turn the key. So I ask him if he thought about the possibility of the battery being dead. Bingo! lol Gave 'em a jump start (It was only a Ford Ranger, first bought my TSX and was rather scared, but went flawlessly) and bam. He thanked me, and it's been running since lol.

Ok ok, I'm sorry I made a sarcastic reply. I figured there were enough informative posts that I could have a little fun. In reality though, everyone has asked a car question someone thought was stupid, myself included. My favorite from this board was that someone (with over a thousand posts) thought that '4-banger ' meant 4 doors.

Yeah, the forum doesn't go by fast enough...sometimes we need to poke a little fun to stir up some activity. I guess in a few years when we all start experiencing old-age tsx problems, we'll be too busy replying with informative posts =P Just look at the accord forums...they go by so fast with all sorts of topics

I don't usually say sarcastic stuff though...I try to at least twist it somehow so that I can add a little information
