Does anybody put Citgo gas in their TSX?
I am considering starting to put this gas in my car. I will continue to put Premium Unleaded like I always have (93 Octane). Citgo gas stations are very prevalent in South Florida. The price difference between premium at my regular gas station (Mobil) and Citgo is .20 cents per gallon. If I fill it up with 15 gallons, the savings would be $3.00 per tank.
Have several questions:
1) Does anybody use Citgo gas on a regular basis?
2) If so, how long have you used this gas in terms of time and mileage? Has your TSX suffered any fuel related problems?
3) What grade of fuel do you use?
Thanks for any input.

in the 24th and a half...
I'll answer as I use several different brands of gas in my car...it really doesn't matter as long as the dealer turns over a reasonable amount of gas. My only concern is water in the gas...or perhaps ethanol above the 10%. I'd keep an eye out for complaints in the news and run whatever you want from a "reputable" retailer. That being said, I've stepped up my Techron use to a tank treatment every oil change (5000 miles) since most companies have backed off their additive packages.
On the ethanol concern, here's an easy way to check the level of ethanol in your gas. Take a measuring container you can cover that is graduated in 10 equal increments of your choice. Place 9 units of the gas you want to test in the container and add 1 unit of water, shake well. The water will bind to the ethanol, and as long as the water/ethanol mixture is less than 2 units of the 10 units, your ethanol is less than about 11% of your gasoline.
No real impact, although some people experience MPG changes on many different types of gasoline.
Premium...and any further discussion should be limited until you've searched for the massive number of threads debating the use or need for premium gas.

DUCKDODGERS:
When you say you use Techron, do you mean you fill up with Chevron gas (Or Mobil) which is the one I believe has Techron or do you mean you yourself put a special additive from a bottle?

Only Shell or Chevron for me, and 76 if I must.
Does anyone prefer one over the other?
May sound a little weird, but after many miles of driving with Shell and Chevron I've noticed I get better gas mileage with Shell on City driving and better gas mileage with Chevron on Freeway driving.
Or was it the other way around? Hehe

I chose the cheapest premium from any gas station. I don't recall hearing any major problems coming from a franchise or the other, whether it is UK-Dutch based or Venezuelan...And as a side note and not to open a debate, citgo is Venezuelan owned, Texas based, but provides work and feeds 10s of thousands of hard working Americans like a lot of foreign businesses operating in the US! my 2c!

There are sure alot of folks here that use Shell. My only thing is I used to work for a guy that was in the Vietnam war and he won't buy Shell because apparently one time while doing a mission, he found a convey that he kinda wonder how they could have made it that far. Well come to find out that a few miles up the road, there was a Shell gas station feeding the Vietcong convey, so apparently he blew it up but he won't ever buy Shell gas as a result. I honor him and I don't either.
Unocal 76, Chevron, Costco, or Safeway gas is all I get now.

I buy whatever as long as it's premium and the gas station doesn't feel dumpy. Honestly, I've never notice a difference between the different "brands" of premium.
I've bought gas from a lot of different places, but never a Citgo station. I don't even think they're out here in California?
