Do our windshields block out infrared light?
Hey guys...
So i got a cruise card in the mail today for the toll. It says on this little information sheet that "some high end cars are equipped with windows that reflect infrared light". Then it goes on and has some pictures for example it shows a BMW 7 series and the certain spots where the cruise card can go on the windshield without getting the light reflected. Then it goes on to say "this is the only spot that your cruise card will work".
I was just wondering... do our windshields reflect infrared light? Anyone else here have cruise cards with no problems?
thanks

Oh yea... one more thing.
For those of you who have them... where do you put them? My instructions say to put it behind the rear view mirror and 2 inches below the edge of the glass. I'm thinking if the windshield doesn't block out infrared light, that it should work anywhere. So.. anyone know of a good spot that doesn't look too tacky?
I'm thinking about putting it behind the blue strip on the tops of the windshield... this way from the outside you can't see the cruise card itself... and from the inside it's behind the rear view mirror so it's not that noticeable.

Nope, our glass doesn't block/reflect IR light. You can tell because the sun really heats things up inside. Like if your steering wheel is in the sun while parked on a hot day. This is especially noticeable when the sun is on my side of the car on the highway. I end up cranking the AC.
