Details...

So, trust me guys... you're not the only ones. I've got an 04 with 161K. I've replaced the VSA, Sunroof, both seat heater bulbs and then the third brake light bulb. Now I've got to replace the hazard and the gear selector bulb.

I just buy the OEM bulbs, but than again I am a parts advisor for a Kia dealership so I just pay cost plus ten on the Acura stuff. Even before that, I had no problem paying the $4 for a bulb than go through the effort the OP did.

Its still interesting how all these bulbs are going out for all of us. I had a 96 Integra that never had this problem at a 165K, and an 84 Accord with 287K that didn't either. Oh well...

OK, I'm a little confused. Once you pull everything out of the way, how do I get the light bulb out to change it? I can see a black plug fitting in the left side, but I can't get it to come out. How do I go about getting it out? You got a video or pictures? I don't want to pay a dealer an hour's labor.

I realize this is an old post and thank you for the time you put into it. I just had my drivers side seat warmer main light go out. I was wondering if you could show a picture of where exactly the first clip is behind the parking break to remove the center console. Also, I'm assuming it is but want to be sure, are the clips located in the same place for the manual and automatic? When you undo the first clip, are you doing it with the flathead vertical or horizontal? Thanks for any extra help you can give me.

I'm not the OP, but I changed my stuff out by reading this thread. I didn't have a clip, or I did and I didn't have to do anything special. I just started out by pulling up on the parking brake and then pulling up on the back of the console piece. I never needed a single tool until I had to turn the light bulb screw. You should be able to do it just like I did. Does that help any?

The good people at Lindsay Acura quoted me $6-8 a bulb so I got the Radio Shack bulbs and they are working out great I paid $4 for 4 bulbs just use tweezers when removing the bulb plastic covers. I found out the easiest way to remove them without tearing the delicate bulb covers is to just smash the old bulb with the butt of your screwdriver and slip the cover onto the replacement bulb.

just updating on the lights that i bought, they work great, they are the exact same size.
only had to switch the blue condom thing, and everything just went in place.

2$ for 5 pre-made is so much better than 5$ for 2 bulbs only

no idea where you can buy the blue rubber, i don't think there would be much difference without the rubber since its such a small light.

the .91w isnt hot at all, and yes the .56w should fit. but why not buy the premade one?

I wouldn't mess with the rubber caps, OEM bulbs, or buy the Radio Shack bulbs.

Get the NEO3 LEDs from Superbrightleds.com and never replace them again. You have to file the plastic down to get the bulb to fit into some of the sockets.

if my calculation is right, the OE bulb 14v with 200mA is 2.8W, with 400mA each bulb is drawing 5.6W. the .91w only drawing 65mA. correct?

The math is correct, but I don't know where you are getting the 400mA bulb. That would be quite bright for an instrument light.

The NEO3 LED bulb in my previous post draws 20mA or 0.28 Watts at 14 Volts.

oops, i re-read the thread, and i quote the wrong #.
the original honda bulb is 14v 40mA, Radioshack is 12V 60mA. so the OE consume 0.56W, while Radioshack rated at 0.72W, and placing Radioshack bulb in the TSX at 14V will actually consume ~51mA. .9W is too much... there is another one probably match our application better at .56W HERE notice the colour.. what does this mean?
- Color: Green
- Light color: Yellow

found some 0.1-0.15W LED. Not sure if they would fit TSX. the LED colour maybe bluish without the cover?
0.15W, 1200~1400mcd, natural white
and

0.1W, 1200~1400mcd, white

The dimensions appear 2mm too wide to fit, and the color will likely be just slightly bluish when compared to the warm light of an incandescent. I linked the superbrightleds site and described which size is correct, so if the measurements aren't the same as the link I provided, it won't fit. I'd just go with the ones I linked since I have already tested the fit and color. The price is better too.

Really appreciate this! Just changed out the lights on the seat heater toggle switches and the moonroof switch.

The housing for the vsa and moonroof switches was actually easy to pull out with some plastic trim panel tools.

I may have to do this after I replace my radio's PCB shortly. I have no lights at all except my drivers side map light, and my passenger's heated seat.

Replaced some of mine today and thankfully I had ordered extras. Mine may have been overly tight due to buying straight from acura (http://www.acurapartsforless.com/) and so I messed some up installing with a flat head screwdriver that wasnt the right size. I kept slipping and as a result it tore the wire coming from the bulb to wrap around the outside.

What could I use to facilitate install in the future? I still need one for my VSA switch.
