Cdn invoice is 32016. Figure 3-4% profit, puts you in the low-33's. Shop at the end of the month - dealerships have quotas to make and might be willing to deal more if they are near a sales quota.

Tell me about it - I'm a Canadian stuck in the US. My price sense has gone completely bonkers with the CAD/USD mixing.

Wow! Roverhater, you only paid $724.88 for tax? That is incredibly low! What percentage is that? What county do you live in???

Response to Ostrich

Yeah, we only have 3% tax on a car purchase in North Carolina. I consider myself lucky now because it was like 7% when I lived in New York.

These are some of the quotes I've received so far:

Base MSRP including Destination: $26,990.00

OUR DISCOUNTED PRICE: $26,150.00*
This pricing is valid only with the Internet Department. Please schedule all visits/follow ups with either Jerry Lustig or Jamie Stockman.

NC Tax: $784.60
Documentation: $298.00
Registration/Title: $61.00

Your Total Value: $27,293.50*

* We have also taken the liberty of including Acuras Protection Package (Splash Guards, Alloy Wheel Locks, and Cargo Tray) with this purchase, at no extra charge. This represents a $277 Added Value.
************************************************

Your Internet price for an in-stock 2004 Acura TSX is:

Price $26,500
Tax @ 3% 795
Doc fee 198
New tag 61

Total $27,554

I have included at no extra charge: (4) Acura floor mats, (4) splash guards, (4) wheel locks, trunk tray, pinstripe, and professional detailing.

That doesn't really add up..

$27735.00 + $367 + $50 + $724.88 + $15 + $10.25 = $28902.13

Unless the difference is the negative equity you mentioned.

Roverhater, that is some clever number game there and it saved you about $1000 worth of tax! So does that mean you "traded in" your car for $17000 and then you have to pay it off for $17500, meaning effectively you just lost $500 for trading in your car, but saving bundles on tax? I am still not quite understanding how this works...

By the way, what did you trade in?

Also, what was your experience with Park Acura? Aren't they just the best, comparing with all the other NE Ohio Acura dealers?

Oh, Millie, that is just amazing! 3% only for car tax? What a dream!

The $500 in negative equity was addes to the loan. Thats where the total of 29552 came from. The trade in was done right. I researched what are trade in was worth and feel we got a very fair trade value. Not like they discounted price then screwed me on my trade. I bought my 03' TL-S in the spring and was treated like a king. When I picked up the TSX I wasnt treated nearly as nice. At Park they have a 10 car enclosed garage area where they have the cars to be deliverd. TL-S was sitting there all shiny and detailed away from the elements. Then they walk you through your car inside. With my TSX the salesman drove the car around back, parked in fron of the door to thatr area and left the car running. He came inside and said it was ready. Well I was expecting to see my shiny new car in that Delivery area, and it wasnt. When he took us outside I was shocked. He gave us the extra set of keys and asked if he needed to show us anything. Keep in mind it is 15 degrees outside and the car is sitting there running. Between the car running and sitting outside and him asking if we wanted to see anything I just said no and drove off. I was pissed. I look forward to the feeling of a new car and getting treated nicely. I am just ripping on them with every cal and questionaire I get.

Roverhater, that is not good! I am sorry to hear about that experience. Did you have the same sales rep as last time?

At least, they were fair on the selling price of the TSX and the trade-in price of your TL...
