The NAV DVD is a data DVD not a video DVD. DVD Shrink and/or AnyDVD would have no effect on that disc.

Getting rid of that notice (which after 4 years doesn't bother me any more) would probably require a firmware update or a change to some of the code on the DVD.

By the way, we call it the "nag screen", since it nags us every time.

And as George mentioned, you would need to modify some of the programming code, which requires some skills. I haven't bothered to look into it yet, but I'm sure people with more programming experiences have already tried (although I think that Bysin claimed that he had successfully removed it and gave a hint as to where to look). Whoever finds out how to remove the nag screen will become very popular here

KP Tech has a module that sends a 'button pulse' after an adjustable amount of time. It doesn't get rid of the nag screen, it just presses the button fr you. But I'm not sure if it has ever been installed on a TSX. It must be hardwired in, and possibly soldered onto the nav circuit board. I think I'll stick to pressing the button until some better alternative comes up. But I'm not holding my breath. Many people smarter than me have tried very hard with no success.

Alpine has put on a CheckSum routine that confirms some integrity of the text
(detects modifications). If some programmer could mess with the OK button to bypass
the screen, he would become quite popular here. Wish I knew an Alpine technician,
I bet they don't have nag screens on their own Navis.
