Differences between 06 and 07?

Hey guys, Im looking to get into a TSX within the next month or so. Just wondering, are there any huge differences between an 06 and an 07? I guess the 06's are being phased out by all the major dealerships here in Socal so im seeing ads for sub 30K prices (including tax and license) WITH Navi. This is in a Chinese newspaper (Chinese people like to know the bottom line price when they buy a car so all the dealerships advertise prices "out the door"). This price is very tempting to me but if there are major changes on the 07 then I may have to reconsider. Any input or prices on recent purchases/recommended dealers in Socal are appreciated. Thanks guys, looking forward to becoming part of the family.

Sup, dude! Well I purchased an '06 Auto w/NAVI in October due to the lack of major differences between '06 and '07. I paid approx $29K out the door in Miami, FL. The only difference as far as my dealer as well as auto blogs are concerned are Daytime Running Lights and a Tire Pressure Monitor which is more trouble than it is worth (my mom has an MDX with it and the slightest change in temperature sets it off!). So, if you can get a good deal on an '06, i'd say run with it! Only you and TSX fanatics will know the difference between '06 and '07!

TPMS you consider major but not DRLs? At least DRLs will get you a discount on your car insurance....that's more major than TPMS in my book!

I was being facetious with the title to my "list". As far as I've read, TPMS was the only difference between the two. If not, feel free to add other features to my list.

what does the Acura Musiclink entail? Is it different from the ipod jack? if not then I could live without it. But the Bi-xenon, now that is cause for concern

MusicLink is an accessory and I very much doubt is now standard.
I also highly doubt bi-xenons.
DRLs can be considered new for 07 for the US model, but they've been installed from the get-go for Canadian models.

According to edmunds, the ONLY upgrade is the TPMS.

Wasn't there some difference in the navigation DVD's too?

its a special hookup for you ipod that allows you skip through the tracks with the steering wheel controls and also charge the ipod while its in the car. 06 didnt work with it but the 07's should. the ipod jack on the 06 wont charge the unit and you have to skip through the tracks using the ipod itself (a hassle)

nobody has confirmed the bi-xenon, the rumor started on acura itself's website. Lots of people have said "I doubt it or it cant be true" but nobody has gone to see and reported back that it actually isnt true

The DRL's would be cool to have. Same with the TPMS, although it would hardly be nessesary.

The acura website lists the musiclink as a dealer option. NOTE: Everything they show is now 07, so I can't compare with 06. I don't know why musiclink wouldn't be an option on the 06.

The website does say HID for low and high beams. Is the 06 FOR SURE only low HID?

'06 recap vs '05

Quickly...
'06 changes over '05
1. 205Hp new 9/04 standard - 213HP old standard
2. Front bumper, slight rear change, Fog lights. slight hood, bottom skirts.
3. 9 spoke wheels.
4. Updated Nav. Faster. Zagat
5. Updated instument panel, MID, carbon fiber look on center console. Brushed aluminum on tuning and volume knob, parchment wood trim slightly different color and pattern, steering wheel w/redesigned acura symbol, memory seat, Ipod connection in arm-rest. All glass indicates Acura, not Honda.
6. updated and reinforced mechicals- 5speed auto.
7. interior noise reduction.

I believe there are a couple of other changes.
I traded in my 05 for an 06 one year ago. Love the 06....

Okay, well then I went to the acura website

http://musiclink.acura.com/

NOT on 2006 TSX, but doesn't say it IS on the 2007. Weird.....

What is the difference between the two stereos? Can you update software on the 06 and make it work or are there different inputs between an 06 and 07? Does it matter if the car has Nav or not?

get a usa spec unit if you want it... its better than the music link for the same price.

And I still have my money that there are no bi-xenons on the 07. I haven't seen one in person, but judging by website pics of the 07, that's a typo.

theres a problem with the '06 headunit where musiclink causes XM crossbleed on AUX.

Are bi-xenon confirmed? Can someone please make sure this is correct and indeed different than the 06. I can't imagine it is. Otherwise I'm sure we'd hear from acura about the TPMS AND the Bi-Xenon lights....

The Acura website lists the 07 TSX as having bi-xenon lights. For those who need it spelled out, the exact words are as follows:
"All TSX models are equipped with Xenon High-Intensity Discharge headlights for both the low and high beams."

We've read this on their site, but can't confirm the information... Pics please?

and if it's true, how do we find out if we can retrofit a 2007 HID High-beams kit on our cars?

my 07 hi beams are halogen. same as my brothers 06.

the only big difference is the tpms and really small changes like the rear view mirror button.

that's the only difference I've noticed coming from an 06

Didn't the 06 have auto up-down only on drivers side and the 07 has auto up-down on both front windows?

If you are still interested, try using the comparison tool on the Acura Web Site. I ran TSX 06 vs TSX 07 and found the following:

XM radio is standard
Tire Pressure Guage
BlueTooth Hands Free Phone Enabled
Auxillary plug for any MP3 player is in the center console. Works great by the way, just like plugging in headphones, buy a cheap male male 3.5 plug.

Tpms

I own an 06 as well and the only difference is the TPMS. I read all about cars all the time and watch the Acura web-site to make sure that I did not get ripped by buying an 06 when the 07s were right around the corner. I paid a bit south of 26K out the door in Feb of 06, and if you can do the same, I would bet that an 07 is not worth the extra$$. As for Bi-xenon lights... I'm not sure that is even necessary. Try driving w/ the halogen first. I live in Alaska where it is dark 20 hours a day right now and my eyes are barely capable of seeing farther than the headlights can project... then again it is snowing most of the time, and the roads are not too straight. Best of luck and enjoy your car. Look no further, this car is the one!
