Decals on the TSX

alrite, well i know how most of you probably arent fans of decals and what not on the car, but im going to ask anyway.

Right now i have two decals on the car, theyre more symbolic than really any other effect.

:::: damnit apparently when i transfered my picutres during the reinstall, the pics of my car were deleted.... argh im so pissed right now!!!:::::

okay anyway aside from that. I have two decals right now on the car, they are those white vinyl ones. One says 911 with the twin towers n what not, and the other is a sort of "no fear" fire fighter thing. Seeing since i moved from nj where i was a paramedic for a while and lived through the whole 911 bit they kind mean something on the window. They dont take up much space, and are in each corner of the window, (bottom right bottom left) I cannot see them from the drivers seat becuase they are "behind" the back head rests so theyre quite low).

now yesterday i was inducted into a professional engineering fraternity that we are starting at our school. Now i have a decal with the greek letters. im tempted to put it on the car but im also hesitant because i dont want to be bothered by the fuzzz.

though the group of us really arent that rowdy and when were drunk we wind up just crashin at eachothers houses because its expected (no one wants to see any one get hurt). so for me drinking n driving doesnt happen.

now after leaving a party last night, knowing i had a 25 minute drive and among other things, i didnt drink n just had a good time, gotta love the drunk chicks . well the cops had thier little road block harassing all of the college kids, since well theyre university cops and have little to do on a saturday night, though in sense its a good idea for those who are leaving drunk. now in a situation like that or even another being pulled over or something of the sort, would the greek letters on the back be sort of starting out on the wrong foot so to say? i wouldnt expect the cop to reconize what it was for, just that its associated with fraternites and inturn careless behavior.

other than that i hafta decide where to put them, im thinking either above the brake light or in one of the size windows not sure yet tho

You are thinking way too much into things. If you really like the decals, to hell with what people think and slap them on. I have Injen, Neuspeed, and Greddy decals on my car. I have never gotten any shit or pulled over because of them.

I think putting company name decals on your car for the heck of it is pretty stupid however I have decals on my car but they are my sponsors and the other is our club decal which is required to be on the car to compete with your club in NCCA show competition.

Well see the question on wether someone else would like it or not isnt really the issue, cuz i could careless. its more of the fact, would i get harassed more if it was on my car? would placement grant it differently? cuz im starting to think the side window might look pretty cool

I wasnt actually talking about your decals to tell you the truth I was talking about the kid with the Neuspeed, Injen, and Greddy Decals on his car.

As for your frat decals it may or may not cause you to get harrassed more than you would without it. if you want to limit the chances of being harrased at those type of check points then I would keep them off.

Thats what i was thinking, is there a favor over which side window to put it in. i was thinking the passenger side becuase thats where others will see them and ill see it less often. or on my side, not sure.

the university police are worse, they have a tiny bit more of responsibilities or whatever u want to call it over a rent a cop. therefore if anything happens OPD has to show up.

and yes, i am founding brother aswell
oh yeah, and pledge master, hope i get some good pledges

The greek decals will identify you as being greek. Considering that they're university police, I'm sure they understand what it means (at my alma mater, certain greek houses are known as troublesome, so the cops are always coming out).

Now that you've told the cops you're greek...it just depends on whether they don't care about it, or if they have something against them.

I personally try not to put identifiable stuff on my car. Maybe someone who has something against your frat might choose it as a target...stuff like that. It's good that you're proud and want to represent, but consider that it can either help or hurt you (depending on who's looking at it)

As for location...I believe the passenger side gets more attention. Whether you're driving by, or parallel-parked on the street...most pedestrians will see that side more. If you put it on the driver's side, it'll be one of the things that the cop notices as he approaches you during a stop (or when you're approaching a road block).

Or instead of getting decals, go to a mall and find one of those stores/kiosks that will personalize a license plate frame for you. If a cop's looking at your license plate, he'll be more interested in the numbers than what your frame says.

thats basically what i figured... eh, idk it was 3 bucks and i figured why not... but i think ure right about the passenger side.

but again with the identifying thing, im not too fond of it but then again im one of 3 tsxs in the lot, and the other being a completely stock SSM (my tsx is SSM)

so i guess im already standing out as it is.

gotta get some time to do it first tho, trying to sell my bikes

I don't see how its stupid. I like the way it looks. That is like saying, modding your car for the heck of it is stupid, unless you actually race at a strip, circuit, etc. I resent the "kid" comment. You are only two years older than me..

Wtf are you talking about?? Adding "show" to my list is irrelevant to my example. I am saying that by you telling me to only add stickers if you go to shows or are sponsored is like me saying only add performance mods if you race your car. Reading isn't for everyone I suppose.

performance mods are rated at car shows

stickers are not rated by the Rice Patrol when they cruise by your parking lot

seems like he can read just fine to me

you said you are in an engineering fraternity... even pigs can pick up on that usually, so they won't be harassing you more for the letters alone.

that said, a decal in the wrong place CAN be used as an excuse to pull you over if they want to harass you for some other reason, so you may want to check with a local police officer who isn't a dipshit (if you can find one) or your local motor vehicle department to see if there is a place to put it that is beyond reproach.

Having decals on your car is a personal preference. I have the Enjen decal on both sides. And the AZ decal in the back window. What's the big deal? If you feel the frat decal is going to cause some harassment to you, don't put it on. You may want to place it somewhere inside the car or perhaps on a notebook, etc. IMO it shouldn't matter if your sporting a decal or not.
