IMHO, gives a classier and cleaner look to the rear of the car, it puts the attention on the car itself instead of on a brand.
Being very picky I also was fed up with cleaning the wax around the letters, big waste of time every 2 weeks.

last night was the first time i saw my own car at night on the road since my brother drove my car and i was following in another car. i noticed how much better the car looks without badges because the headlights light didn't reflect off them; the tsx tail lights/reflectors stand out much better.

I just debadged my Acura and TSX emblems. I really like the look 
and I also put the Rear M3 Trunk Lip too! The car looks so much sportier now, but still with the luxury/classy look!

I debadged mine because I just like a clean, classy look. I hate labels period; no matter what they say. I wont even were a shirt with POLO across the front. However, I dress very classy and cool. I like to put plain things together to create a nice overall package.
Same translates into my car for me. I want a clean classy look with all the my aftermarket additions adding to the cleanliness of the car, not to the clutter. For that reason, i hate carbon fiber, stickers, obnoxious coffee can exhausts, etc.
That's my rational, everyone has their own.

Well.....to a car lover, a car from the dealer is an unfinish art item.
We will customise it (whether to lower it, big rims, tint the glass, add on bodykit, debadge ..... blah blah blah) ..... to a finish artwork ... or your own representation on how THE car will look like !
A mate has always mention to me, you can tell how's the person character by how he does up his car ( just like how one dress up your clothes)
...... well, I'll never be content in any car in it's stock form (whether TSX or any super car) ..... there's always room for improvement to present YOUR way !

I kind of think I'm still with the badged people. I just sort of like having the logos on there; to me it does actually make the car look like it's missing something if they're off, and it somehow makes the car look "cheaper," although I'm not sure why it appears to me that way. It just does. It's funny that people's perceptions on that are different, though. Just a few posts from each other, one guy says that having the badges on makes the car look cheaper, while another says having them off looks cheaper. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

i remember when removing the rear insignia became popular in the early 1980's on german cars as an anti-status symbol. your s450 could be mistaken for an s280, and then you could blow someone away when they thought all you had was an enemic oil burner... of course add some wide tires to an s280, and you could tell that hotty that would never give you the time of day that it was an s450...
